High altitude surveillance offers additional options regarding timing and loiter, especially if you suspect that there is movements being made to avoid that eye in the sky.

Was pretty neat seeing inside of the cockpit at the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo, MI. Crazy seeing all the analog switches and whatnot up close. Would be a way different beast than what modern pilots are used to, that's for sure.
We use binoculars for spotting. Yes, it costs us field of view. We use scopes for higher precision during shooting. Yes, it costs us field of view.
