The judge said something about having one or two of his feet shackled on day 1, that scenario is unlikely to happen because of it, sadly.

TBF it's probably going to take significantly longer than that to return a verdict. Not because of doubt, just because there's 70+ charges with possible modifiers they'll need to fill individual forms for.

So, despite pleading guilty where this was most certainly explained to him back in 2007. What the minor did or didn't do is irrelevant because statutory rape (or in this case statutory seduction) is strict liability in pretty much every state at this point. The details other than her being underage literally don't matter. Never mind that he was like 24 and she was 14 or some shit I'm sure.

The system being the way it is helps make sure that less innocent people get railroaded into getting convicted for things they didn't do. While in this case its a slow process with an obvious conclusion, in a reality where the police arrested the wrong guy, a trial like this would possibly exonerate them.

Albiet, in a world where Brooks was arrested and innocent, his being a stupid cunt would have resulted in him being convicted anyway, but that's beyond the point. Despite knowing he's for sure getting convicted, he's still not going to just plea guilty

Based on the remaining witnesses and the jury instructions for all seventy counts, the judge will send everyone home once Darrell defense is done. Then on Tuesday, they will spend the day going through jury instructions.

I would expect a verdict late Tuesday or after lunch in Wednesday.

After that, I would expect a month or so for victim impact statements before sentencing. The good thing about that phase and the sentence being imposed is that once he is guilty he can be handcuffed, with wrist chains, and leg irons.

Then its off to prison for the rest of his life. I don't believe the Black prison gangs want him and would be indifferent if the Aryan Nations just shanked him. Such, he will be in administrative segregation custody for the rest of his life.

He can try to file an appeal but he will be on his own. Even prisoners with extensive legal experience cannot or will not help him out as his conduct has made his case unappealable. Best case, the prison legal help tells him he is an idiot

He has yet to argue why he isn't guilty, but he's hinted at a few things:

1. He was honking the horn of the car to alert people to get out of the way. Almost every one of the witnesses he's called stated that they heard him blow his horn at least once. That seems to be his main focus. However, the only people who claimed to hear his horn said he only blew it when he first entered the parade route, and nobody after that heard his horn. On a side note, at least one of his called witnesses had children that were severely injured in the parade, which he didn't even learn about until cross. So he made himself look like an even bigger dumbass than before, as is the case with every witness he called.

2. The windows were tinted and nobody saw inside the back seat. He hasn't claimed there was anyone in the back but I guess he is hoping it creates some doubt??

3. A few people said they saw multiple men fleeing the car. He calls all of them to testify and none of them remember anything.
