𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

I'm partial to the theory that Elon is letting some of these possibilities float to test leakers and make the media look silly when they don't implement some of these things. He commented on a poll about making blue checks pay for the privilege and just said "interesting" in response to how most people said they wouldn't pay for them.

I don't know how he stays on top of Twitter while managing it, but it's a good skill because he sort of SEEMS like he's staying ahead of their retardation. It's hard to call him out of touch with what the userbase wants when he's in every fucking thread.
Or he's testing out the ideas. Paid checkmarks at all. Price $5/$20? What gets talked about and what gets said? If there's lots of blowback on anything it's "Someone familiar with the situation" rather than anything official.

The whole "Develop it in a week or get canned" thing could be similar. Give some of the group from Tesla the same job, See if they can perform. If not, Maybe that wasn't such a realistic deadline. If they do look at what both groups do produce. The Twitter group could get fired for not delivering or for underperforming relative to the Tesla group. He gets two shots at the project and either at least gets one or a choice of two along with a test of how well Twitter can handle stuff.

Fuck all these small-timers that never go viral, afraid that someone is going to "invade" their conversation and just call them a nigger. So what? I haven't been able to post in my community for a week, FUCK YOUR COMMUNITY. When you ruin my space online, I am going to five others I don't belong in just to smear shit on the doorhandles and windows to make you aware of my displeasure. Fucking niggers.

I should inform you that I've been spamming troons&trannies for 3 days without consequence on a burner account including some cozy big acct. QTs and RTs and significant seething.
Maybe there's some hope, although I am reluctant to trust Mr. Mollusk.
I got robojannied yesterday, probably for saying nigger kike and faggot in one tweet. Not giving this south african my phone number.

I thought he's been banned for over a year now.
He came back and was gloating about it on stream, almost immediately before being re-banned.
Please post more screenshots, I'm dying to see this shit.
None were known cows, really. Also I probably wouldn't post stuff here while using the same name there. It would be rude. Most were just innocent (seemingly innocent) fools wandering into somewhere they didn't understand. Look for mastodon posters and you'll see what I mean.

nothing will change. Elon will either back down or be to lazy to bring any meaningful new change. i wish twitter would simply get deleted from the face of the earth since it seems all the troubles we have on the internet comes from twitter.
Main sign that things have changed will be if Trump's account is reinstated. It's something libs who have pull with advertisers would despise, so it'd show that Musk wasn't completely beholden to lib corporate interests.

Which is likely why he said he'd do that council to look at reinstatements or changing moderation standards, he was basically backing out of those prior promises by coming up with a target for people to blame for the decisions.

Elon took his tweet down already, but still:

I hope Mr Pelosi and his boyfriend are both okay after their little tiff.

edit: there's no bigger bitch than certain types who soft block, block me if a bit of bantz is making you cry. Twitter will only be okay when I can again mock journo-scum.

Tears continue to flow among the blue-ticked.

White-hater Priyamvada Gopal claims her blue tick is somehow protecting her from physical attack, and so it's not fair to make her pay for it.

If he wants to do anything, he has to use his broom himself. There's no point waiting. I'm not sure he has a great argument about "for cause" though and they have enough money to litigate it.
What backing do they have? I mean, takeovers happen all the time, and new owners come in and fire the lot, of the previously hired.

BTW: 7 more are gone and they are crying pretty hard.

I don't know how familiar anyone is with modern Musk's antics, but you cannot believe anything this man says at this point. The more I've learned about the guy the more it seems like at this point his job has become trying to larp as Tony Stark to impress child-minded idiots who think Tony Stark could be a real thing.
- He was going to revolutionize transport with hyperloop, trains hovering like air-hocky pucks in a huge vacuum tube. This was such a clown show I can't even fit it here. Eventually it morphed into chauffeurs manually driving tesla cars single file down tunnels from station to station at about 30mph. Currently operational in Las Vegas, paid for by Nevada taxpayers.

- He's going to put them underground by digging tunnels faster and cheaper than anyone else ever with his Boring company (he did it at the same rate for the same price).

- SpaceEx will have people on Mars by 2024 (although the deadlines for all these things are constantly shifting back as they fail to materialize)

- SpaceEx will use cheaper, reusable rockets to the point a ticket to space would cost $100k or less (only one part of the rocket is reusable, and despite government contracts SpaceEx rockets are actually more expensive to make and launch than the older ones, because reusable rockets aren't actually that great an idea)

- He created an entire fake housing development to show off his completely impractical solar roofs, while pretending this was already a thing he was doing.

- He's going to create electric 18 wheelers that will be more efficient than rail he can do it right now in fact (back in 2019)

- He's going to make robots that replace human workers any day now but they have to use super-edited videos to show their embarrassing performance

Idk if most people know that back in 2018 he was removed as chairman of Tesla because he was convicted of securities fraud.

I don't know if he was always full of it or if he used to buy into his own hype, but at this point the guy's on the level of a used car salesman and he knows it. Like I've said from the beginning, this might cause idiots on Twitter to chimp out because they like doing that, but don't expect a glorified hype man to actually do anything of any consequence.

He commented on a poll about making blue checks pay for the privilege and just said "interesting" in response to how most people said they wouldn't pay for them.
See, the thing is that as far as I'm aware blue checkmarks already ARE increasingly paid.

They aren't literally, but here:

The TL;DR is that there is no longer a direct public means of verification, because nowadays it's more or less a commodity used to encourage people to spend money on ads or generally buddy up with Twitter, and has been correlated with increase in Twitter stock prices.

Basically if Twitter hadn't sold out years ago and became a paid mouthpiece for corporations and the media, they would've folded.

The internet is a fundamentally a corporate medium and nobody will ever do anything to change that, Musk's just doing the usual by self-aggrandizing and making completely outlandish claims with no concern for reality. If Twitter started offering verification to anyone, it would go out of business.

The issue is "for cause." Elon can fire anyone he wants. That doesn't mean he can renege on their contracts if they had a provision for what occurs in the case of termination. Those usually also have an exception for "for cause" but just saying those magic words doesn't make it so.

The cope and seethe is already starting to flow. No word yet on when the dilating begins.

Translation: Social media has caused my interpersonal skills to deteriorate so significantly that I can't live without Twitter. I also can't be bothered to put in the effort to fix myself, nor do I want to put in the effort to curb the addiction I refuse to acknowledge exists; it's the world's fault that I am this way.
