Warhammer 40k

So Shootas Blood and Teef is ok. I haven't played this style of game before so I can't really judge it too well, but, it's not bad so far. Definitely better with mouse and keyboard, tho.

The entire game is set off when your warboss decides he likes your hair squig more than he likes you, so he steals it and throws you out of his warship. From low orbit. You then claw your way back up to him from there.
The game is fun if yer a fan of Metal Slug-like games or if you have played these devs previous games. It's def more fun if you have some peeps playing with you, an I have to say I do love a straightforward plot for an Ork related adventure,

The fact that GW doesn't do cross media promotion of this shit -- a quick Ork model of the main character / the warboss, or even an upgrade sprue with some of the absurd guns and decorations the game has, is a bummer and a half.

Lol

We're in a post-3d printing world. There are already pretty damn nice proxy versions of almost every single released Voltan unit out there.

Only one that doesn't look "washed out" is the Steelfolk.

The shit on Cults doesn't even scratch the surface. GW litigates the best proxies off the major 3d printing websites which has created a big underground on telegram of file traders that provide a lot of models that are close to 1:1 copies.

Some factions are arguably better off on the 3d printing side. I have a 1k sororitas army that is 100% 3d printed, and most of the models blow GW out of the water because most of the files are split up like a kitbash where you can easily customize each and every model without waste or added cost. There's hundreds of head options so I was able to put faction themed, full face helmets on all the units to make me having a sisters army seem less gay to my friends.

Finally, we can talk about the new Guard tank, the Rogal Dorn.

It's alright, but as others have made comparisons, I think I would've rather seen a plastic Macharius modified with the same weapons. The (optional) "nipple guns" are definitely the worst part. I'm curious to see this different colors that more typical of Guard tanks.

I kind of hope it gets integrated into the lore simply as "they had it all along" rather than trying to make it some recent invention alongside Primaris.

For those who haven't actually read this turd of an article, you should at least recognize that it's not about anything new that happened. It's just the usual whining about Warhammer and its fans that you see journo outlets put out every now and then, right down to decrying the lack of female Space Marines. Rather than getting quotes from GW, they instead come from rando academics and their ilk.

Furthermore, it appears that the author Jordan Carroll is himself an academic who has never written for Polygon before. It seems that this article relates to a book that he's writing, which will surely be well researched and not a bunch of progressive nonsense...

It doesn't look like he has a Twitter account.

Heres what I dont get about "Oh lack of female space marines!" Part, like there were indeed a short lived models and mentions in lore, but we kinda have current female space marines, the Adeptus Sororitas kinda fit that bill

It's not good enough. The wokies' religion states that there is no difference between men and women and thus we're not allowed to have our fantasy spacemens discriminate, because something something play a game that doesn't have woke politics and you won't absorb woke politics.

This is funny because outside of Twatter and places like Polygon, nobody cares much about this shit and is just curious about following model sets. Ironic, isn't it?

But wasnt it already subverted because of the Adeptus Sororitas?
No. The Sisters of Battle have been canon for a long, long time. Almost as long as Female Space Marines have been explicitly not-canon. If you want to talk about things with the Sisters of Battle that DO concern the fanbase, they've actually been slowly changing them from being witch hunting nuns -- so chainswords and flamers, targeting light armored targets like heretics -- to being... female space marines (so big armor and bolters).

Remember, these are tourists we're talking about. They don't give a shit about the hobby. They hate the people playing the hobby for their sex and skin tone, and hate the fuck out of the fact that something exists that doesn't pander to their stupid politics. They will NEVER be the kind of people with a $500 pile of shame awaiting the new $200 boxed set to join in, or picking up a new kill team just cause they had a spark of an idea about a cool fluffy force, or getting excited about a handful of new paint colors.

Maoism had a saying, and I can't quote it properly: "Every institution must be made to serve the interests of the party or burned to the ground so no one else can use it." Wokies are cultural maoists. Either 40k will be subverted and changed so it supports woke ideals, or it will be destroyed so no one else can enjoy it, so they can go play some other game that IS subverted, preferably subverted out of the gate.

No because Sisters of Battle fit the lore (zealous nuns with guns) and they aren’t the “poster boys” for Warhammer, which is what they want. They want their subversion to be shoved in our faces, for themselves to be seen as what Warhammer is.

It's not good enough that they get their way. We have to explicitly NOT get ours, and they have to make damn sure we know it. It's not good enough that GW might add them as a potential market, they have to be the primary market that GW caters to, while we just mope around eating shit -- and the scraps that GW decides to toss us.

This is all the exact same shit they did in comics, they tried in vidya, et cetera. It's not good enough to win. They have to make us lose.

But the key thing to remember is they don't ACTUALLY like any of the hobbies they infest. They're tourists, not fans. Hobbies can't survive off tourists tossing $5 in here and there, or swarming the hobby to "teach the chuds a lesson" then fucking off to never come back. That's why get-woke-go-broke is so true, at least in hobby spaces. Tourists don't subsidize the hobby, fans do.

I actually wonder how hard will it blow their mind, if they find out there are people of color, females, gay or trans who enjoy the hobby and hate these people and their obnoxious "crusades"

The thing is, some of them are hobbyists. Look at Snipe and Wib, they are without a doubt, long term hobbyists. It is just that they have the progressive brain rot that makes them think bending the setting backwards for inclusion would be the best thing ever.
