People always get the timeline and actors wrong, it was people being bored of LiveJournal and picking up new social media platforms for fandom purposes that spread being a retard to early Twitter and Tumblr. 2007 Tumblr was actually pretty different from even 2009 Tumblr, I wasn't around for early Twitter but considering it went online even earlier than Tumblr I bet it has a similar story.

If you want to really get in the weeds, LiveJournal was the way it was because it inherited its fandom culture from the zine and convention fandom culture of LA that stretches all the way back to post-WW2 fandom meetings in the livingroom's of pedo communist sci-fi/fantasy authors. It's actually really wild how you can trace a line from stuff like the Breen-doggle to mid-2000s fandom culture.

Probably late, but people weren't 'bored' of livejournal, there was a mass crackdown on porn and gay content. Sound familiar?

Also, there was a time when tumblr was considered something of 4chan's little sister/the girl 4chan way back in 2011-2012. There were weird ship personifications of them and everything. People straight up don't believe me when I tell them this. It's like trying to tell people Reddit used to lean right wing.

People need to wait a while, seeing as Musk hasn't implemented any of his changes yet, and he is unsuspending certain accounts so far (manually I assume) so I don't think he's gonna fuck us over...yet anyway.

And he did make it pretty clear he's not gonna favour one side over the other. The issue wasn't ever really that, just the fact these social media platforms amplify certain voices and deplatform and silence others.

Are you talking about when the Russians bought LJ? Because that happened a little after the time period I'm talking about, although yeah it was final blow and chased basically everyone who was left off. But I remember no crackdown in the period from 2009-2011, it was just users were tired of the microblogging style, Twitter and Tumblr were shinny and new and artists could actually see how many likes/reposts they were getting, and it was fashionable for big name posters to flounce out of their varous communities and LJ itself by announcing they were going Twitter/Tumblr only.

Wow. Who saw that coming? Elon "90% hot air 10% delivery" Musk finding out why the things are they way they are. Advertisers have certain "expectations" of how they want you to conduct your business. With Twitter, it's not a huge lost for advertisers just to pull out and never return. They got bigger and better places they can go to get eyeballs from. Unlike if they pull out of Youtube, it would be a major lost if Susan doesn't play ball.

The only people who care anyways are the progressives and troons. Just enjoy the continue shit show because that's as relevant Twitter will get for a while.

People really have to understand that calling for the end of "hate" is even more disingenuous than a victor of total war calling for "peace". It's not a coincidence that the current world order was ushered in on event exactly like that, and on the thinly veiled sanctification of one group's hate for another, with the hatred of the victor outlawed and made beyond the pale.

Beyond the rare dysfunctional, people don't waste their energy hating for no reason. No person capable of love wouldn't hate that which destroys what they love. Many loved an endless number of American and now European hometowns only to see policies of bussing in blacks and migrants with the deliberate purpose of breaking up of long standing, sometimes ancient, communities to create political strongholds for servants of moloch while destroying and replacing the cultural nerve centers of populations under subjugation. To say hate is wrong in this way is to deny parents recourse against groomers, politicians, and literal murdering, child torturing rapists imported for political expediency, of which occurrences we only hear a fraction of.

None of this is to say it is right to be consumed by hate, which would have you forget what you love, but the idea that righteous anger should be quelled due to its proximity to hatred is deliberate and deadly sophistry by those who want to convince you that they don't deserve their power stripped from them by all necessary means.

Cross posting from the A&N thread on that article, but all he said was that it's going to take weeks to implement a process for ban appeals. That is to be expected, it was never going to be done before mid terms.
