Interesting they gave that article a comment section!
Good bit of "This comment was removed because it broke the house rules." though.

---

The thing that stuck with me from Wu's panel is a comment that went something like this: "Those dangerous trolls are out to get us [basically killed]!"

Now that just doesnt make any sense and if you are even the least bit familiar with the internet and its culture you'd know that.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

Trolls are by and large not dangerous. They are all about getting a rise out of you, making you react in funny/irrational ways and then, when you've dried up as a source of amusement, they will most likely move on.

The saying "Don't feed the troll" isn't a staple of online culture for no reason. If you stop giving them what you want they would simply ignore you.

But Wu et al. can't do that for obvious reasons.

Troll doesn't hold the same meaning anymore. In the past few years it's just come to mean "person that I don't like" or "person who disagrees with me".

I've lost count how many times this idiot has said this shit:

SXSW panel made the BBC:

If you were offended about the Beeb quoting a notorious serial harasser in a piece about harassment, contact their complaints office.

Good luck with that. I'm waiting more than three months for a response, despite contacting them again and contacting the BBC Trust. The BBC will change blatantly incorrect facts, where their claims are conclusively wrong, but they'll fight tooth and nail to defend the feminist victimhood narrative - even for someone as odious and dishonest as Wu.

More updates, including this.

GodJesus BearChrist I've got a ton of work to do.

INTERESTING UPDATE: Wu may have done fucked up when she attended SXSW; she made the claim that her staff posted shit trying to get action taken on YouTube. This is clearly an attempt to cover up the infamous DMCA barrage done by her followers that blew up in her face.

BONUS EDIT: Congrats, Brianna! You've currently got SIX THREADS running about you (and counting) on KIA, after they previously were in debate of whether or not to even cover you. Of course, you had to label them Satan incarnate, so they've been also covering your various bits of malfeasance, including the question of Natalie's existence, which you have yet to confirm.

Lolcow Wiki's gotten a whole lotta hits lately.
"so she could continue to whinge about how victimized she had been on Gamergate."

Need to clean up that last sentence

I was just looking at Omar's twitter. Spewing "levelup" crap and goodness forbid people go check out the VR panel than listening to Wu talking over minority women. She did the same "uh-huh's" and "yeahs" she does when Amanda had a chance to talk in that podcast that was posted a bit ago... Wu has no interest unless it's about her. It's kind of disgusting behavior, tbh. (I also like how Omar tweeted that he was a brown person)
Wasnt she supposed to be on some VR panel?

They were fairly critical of that whole summit and what it accomplished. More talking about harassment than solving harassment

Amen to that. We have a world with real problems to fix, and a number of people (like your organization) doing something about it, and then we have the likes of Brianna being an absolute shit.

I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Spectator - I wanted to make clear however just how much of a sensationalizing dick-mule Brianna was being, and yours was one of the only real contrasts I knew about.

Speaking of apologies, however: there's one thing I found interesting.
Jan admitted he overstepped when he fucked with the Wayne foundation.

Seriously, check 34:40 or so. He apologized in the aftermath of Deagle Nation finally being over.

This is a rather interesting contrast, again, in how two seperate parties reacted to the lunacy that was Deagle Nation. Your organization did its due diligence, and found that Jace was just some sped, hardly worth getting worked up over; Brianna Wu meanwhile tried to turn such knowledge into an attack point (nothing new for Brianna, mind). Jan took the time to apologize for his hininks involving your organization later, whereas for Brianna Wu, the entire reason that Deagle Nation came to an end was to discredit Brianna herself.
Could anyone point me to the videos they talk about where Tyce broke in to play Prison Architect and what was it? Ferguzone?

Wu was a mod for GamerGhazi for a while, but even they couldn't handle that particular brand of crazy and gave her the boot.

I think that a prerequisite for becoming a mod of GamerGhazi is having a hate-boner for KotakuInAction.

...Which is pretty amazing when you remember that KIA's been given awards.

See also: "Harassment."

"so she could continue to whinge about how victimized she had been on Gamergate."

There's another one. I appreciate you guys pointing these out to me so I can fix 'em. Props.

You know, the day after the stream, I feel so incredibly sorry for the other three panelists. They attended something which could have been meaningful and interesting, and indeed you could see these sparks. Each seemed to bring in stories and put names to them so you can do your own research into them if you wanted to.

Then we had her Twitchyness there to the side constantly unable to stay respectfully quiet at any point with her "uh-huhs" sounding increasingly like she never listened to a thing not Wu related. Coupled with citing all sorts of either personal or stories from people who remained nameless and thus unverifiable. She was even checking her twitter while at the panel instead of paying attention for 90 damn minutes, making her "yeah" and "uh-huhs" doubly disrespectful towards people fighting for actual causes that are not Brianna Wu.

All while at a festival which is largely there for entertainment and attention-grabbing start ups.

No wonder 20 people turned up from Wu's fanclub instead of people actually interested in the serious issues underlying it.

I thought that's what she was also there to sperg about, but dunno. The implications that Omar was making was that guys would rather check out the latest gadgets than listen to women talking. (Irony, that Wu would want to do that too than listen to her co-speakers)

Wu is trying to weasel herself into "tech feminism" when that's not a big career path for women overall. (Which is definitely a different subject than real online stalking or whatever else Wu tries to mutate it with)

If she changed tactics to panel women's entrepreneurship development and harassment at actual feminist events, she could probably get more than 10 people to show up. The problem there is her lack of business success, self-sufficiency and trying to avoid being called out as a man in a women's only event by militants.

I doubt her ego could handle it.

This is exactly what I was thinking to the point that it was so cringeworthy I couldn't really watch more than a few minutes of the whole sad and depraved circus act. One of the women on the panel is apparently a law professor. Imagine her chagrin, after working so hard for most of her life in rigorous pursuit of such highly regarded academic credentials, only to show up to to a what she is expecting to be a panel discussion at an otherwise prestigious conference, only to be peered with a monstrous side-show freak like Wu. What a slap in the face.

Oooh this is gonna be painful.
Wu can't even release a single IOS game remake, and now he's gonna claim that he's a professional game developer AND beg for millions to make what thousands of people have done for free?

My god, Wu is making excuses left, right and center. I think the more logical conclusion is that nobody was fucking interested in watching you yammer about Gamergate and hearing your sob stories. People that wanted to listen to something worthwhile saw your name on the panel list and respectfully declined by not showing up.

Will you please listen to the wise woman that can use important sounding words? Please clap. Please understand!

There's also some crap about male privilege. Something Brianna "John" Walker Flynt has never had the pleasure of experiencing.
