Shit like this is why I have to throw a little doubt on
@Cuckoman's assessment of Elliot's capabilities as an SRE. Not doubting the impression he had, but rather the potential reality behind it.
Elliot knows all the terminology, but his systemic knowledge appears shallow for someone of his claimed qualifications, almost as if he's just repeating what he's been told by others, rather than what he has experienced for himself. Code never lies. Like I said before, much of the code he's published publicly has been simplistic library stitching, the sort of which I would expect from a junior. A senior would have more involvement in the code, more personality imprinted on it, regardless of their role responsibilities.
I've encountered his type before: they talk a good, aggressive game and have little tolerance for the opinions of others, simply because those others will almost definitely present ideas that are better than their own. They can make themselves look like a 10X, by putting in the barest minimum effort as a team lead or senior dev, whilst manipulating everything and everyone around them to recieve credit for the work other people have done. It wouldn't surprise me if he always oversold himself this way, whilst intimidating and silencing anyone who might potentially out him as a hack fraud.
