What're youse'll niggers planning on drinking in celebration/misery tomorrow? I've got cheap tequila if things go well. I've got cheap tequila if things don't go well.

I've got a fifth of Jim Beam whiskey for this one! Either way, this will be a glorious shitshow.

Might even buy some popcorn and movie theater candy tomorrow on the way back from the polls.

I'm still half-convinced the whole thing was a bait job by Trump and Desantis to smoke someone out. The left's been trying to drive a wedge between the two for a while now, and both Trump and Desantis know it. Add to that Trump's habit of trolling and showmanship and I could easily see him playing out a line of bullshit, with Ron's blessing, to see if anyone bit the hook.
Smoke whom out?

The basic situation is this, both Trump and DeSantis are going to run, only one can win. That sort of means there has to be a split between them, that's politics.

Unless DeSantis is faking running for no discernible purpose? I think his campaign is hopeless, so it just seems awfully slimy of him - bar a serious accident, Trump will win the nomination handily.

I'll probably just grab a Yuengling from the bar after casting my ballot since the polling place is just up the road. It's only three bucks on tap there and it's also the most American beer I can think of.

If you want a reasonable budget option, Olmeca Altos is really good for what you pay for it.

As for mine… I did Monkey Shoulder in 2020, but I’ve largely adopted Null’s hatred of the UK since then. Maybe a Oaxaca Old Fashioned or Margerita if thing go well and there’s no fuckery; otherwise a shot or 4 of Wray and Nephew Overproof.

I also have heard that Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire are more conservative than one would think.

I have a relative in SD who said Camp Pendleton is the only reason it isn't LA.
There's a ton of Military and ex-Military in SD. Pendleton, Miramar, NAS North Island, Naval Base San Diego. And from that you get a ton of military adjacent companies like General Dynamics. It's still blue, but it's not California Blue(tm).

Also it's less conservative and more anti-homeless and anti-gibs.
Essentinally DINOs to RINOs. Considering what the DNC stand for. But the fact that cali runs roughshod over people's rights regardless of what they vote for kinda fucked over voters showing up.

Trial balloon perhaps? Create buzz about a rivalry, see how the chattering class splits, gives each man decent insight into where he stands. I don't think that Trump won't run, but DeSantis is probably still up in the air: no matter how good you are, contesting for the nomination against a guy who has a fanatical fanbase, an astronomical Q-rating, and an arbitrarily large war chest is quite the uphill climb.

True, it's more of a light blue rather than a deep blue. Also, there are some Republican house districts in SD County, and they're predicted to stay red.

Opposition of both men really desperately want both DeSantis and Trump to run and end up dividing the part of the Republican party that has a chance of actually winning anything. Honestly, Trump is 76 and DeSantis is 44 so all DeSantis really has to do is wait for Trump's hypothethical 2nd term to be over, assuming there won't be any big political changes of course. He has the time, why not just spend it building up his profile more and running a truly prepared campaign when the moment arrives. Even in the event Trump doesn't run and/or win in 2024 for some reason, DeSantis will most likely still be a big player in politics for future elections.

The minute you go outside the major big cities, which try to emulate typical woke-ness, the suburbs and rural communities are either extremely conservative (carryover from when SoCal was traditionally GOP) or, at worst, unapologetically NIMBY and often skip the "pretending to be compassionate" part that most liberal NIMBYs do. In the past, people have mentioned the large military presence plays a role, but even that is getting unreliable (the MIC and armed forces tend to be very pro-establishment and my officer Navy buddy says it's close to 50/50 D/R split in many parts of fleets).

Us native SoCal inlanders (proper terms are "Inland Empire (for Riverside, San Bernardino, and MAYBE Orange counties)" and "East County (San Diego County)" have been fleeing the state for decades, but there's still some of us left despite the rest of the state wanting us to go away. Sucks that 4+ generations before me built up the state to be a pinnacle of the American Dream during and immediately after the world wars and to see it decay so drastically.

I don't put much faith in the Democrats winning both houses of congress (holding the senate is more realistic) but it would be so fun to see the Democratic have a surprise victory, even a minor victory overall, if it means seeing the meltdown happening over on twitter and other sites like Parler, Gab, etc.

I thought the warrant canary had gone away a few times.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Not sure what happened with those but, in regard to the No Dong #dropkiwifarms drama, there hasn't been any substance to their allegations that this site hosts illegal content. True-blue fedposts and other illegal content gets moderated. Bottom line is the popular journoscum narrative about this site is bullshit, as usual.
