Thinking about it for a second, it's really not surprising that Gong Gong was barely a footnote for years then suddenly popped up in a big way after Lucas and his degenerate simps got cloudflare to drop KF using various lies and deceptions. It would match what I suspect is Gong Gong's entire modus operandi for his career and life. Pop up and take credit for Good Thing whenever Good Thing happens, especially if it's related to being a troon, even when you didn't actually do anything. He inserted himself into this after it was already active in the news cycle. It wasn't organic.
KF hasn't really cared about Gong Gong for literal years (and was only a minor footnote in other threads and only got a dedicated thread at the end of August, from what I understand) and his narcissism is so chronic and pathological that it pretty obviously bothered him that he wasn't the one that took KF down. This second attempt seems like it was him trying to move in to make it "permanent" and then claim all credit for killing KF, relegating Lucas to the online equivalent of a back-page mention. Now he's going to disappear again after failing, trying to wipe all evidence of failing or framing it as opsec/hiding from KF "spies." He'll stop trying anything but will publicly claim he's always working on it, so that he can pretend to be as persistent and principled as Null has already proven to be.
If someone manages to achieve some level of success against Null in the future, I guarantee Gong Gong will pop up again and insert himself right into the middle of it and try to take credit. And once again there will have been no real discussion of him on this site for months or even years at that point, but he will publicly cry about being actively stalked.

I really don't think CF is going to run out of business because of this. Normies of the "have nothing to hide so why should I be worried" variety don't give a shit about any of this. You also have lots of public contractors, I know in Europe that the public sector uses CloudFare for several things in several countries lol.
There is no way I see the Internet as a whole being considered utilities like phone lines or water supply at this point in time so there will be no company interested in being the potential suitor for that, CF probably realised this after that first announcement.
