They actually attempted to bring back Courage The Cowardly Dog as a CGI animated show, they even made a pilot for it, only downside is they couldn't get the old VA for Eustace back:

It's hard to wish those guys back to life when they die (if we're talking about Eustace's first VA, that guy can never be replaced easily).

Wallace Shawn is Eustace in this?... I take issue with this on that alone. Wallace Shawn is a great actor, a wonderful actor, but he's not Eustace. Otherwise, I see John Dilworth was involved, so it can't be that bad.

(The second guy who played Eustace is actually 93 years old and retired. I see no reason to force an old man out of retirement to do voice work.)

It's hard to respect those wishes at that age. I would say they did all they could here with what they had.

You can't really go wrong with Chuck Jones, of course. I'm sure everybody here knows What's Opera, Doc? and One Froggy Evening. But how about one of his lesser-known efforts, The Bear That Wasn't?

The score here was by Dean Elliott, who I believe is one of the most underrated composers of background scores (he also did the scores for the first few Dr. Seuss specials at DePatie-Freleng). Listen to how he has a jazz choir swing the phrase "He's a silly man who needs a shave and wears a fur coat"!

So I have been watching a ton of Bob's Burgers lately.
I really like it. I feel like it's a good subversion of animated sitcom tropes, it's quite funny and it also has interesting characters and unique plots.
I don't really mind when it uses gross out humor, either. If I had to complain, I'd say it's a little predictable at times and it can move slowly at others. Other than that, it's still very good.

Ever had that one cartoon you can't quite put it together in your head, but you know you've seen it before, and suddenly you find it again and all those memories flood back in. I just had that tonight with this little number from Bulgaria produced 45 years ago!

This was one of those odd pieces they used to run on Nickelodeon during their early years on a program called "Pinwheel". Glad to see it again with that music!

I'm lucky enough to boast that I have this on videotape as part of a series of Cartoon Network promo tapes (which I found at a Savers in Pasadena) - and they also feature such classics as:

Asde from a couple YouTube playlists I put together (the videos of which I'm sure had been taken down over time), I do have some odd premium gift I recieved for Xmas one year of several VHS tapes of "Cartoon Cartoons" placed inside a nice case that has "Cartoon Cartoons" on one side, the CN logo on the other and the characters around the edge or whatever. Wished I have a photo to share of it right now but I'm not home at the moment.

Yep, those are the tapes! I recall they also had the "Screwy, aint' it?" bumpers as well (the ones where they repetitively play the same action over and over). That six tape I do have was just called "What a Cartoon" I think, and featured "The Chicken from Outer Space" (I think Courage was on that cover).

CN nowadays relies too much on "LOL RANDOM"-type humor, which by itself is a major turn-off for me when it comes to tuning in.

It also doesn't help that most of the shows they air now are colossal eyesores. (*Ahem*Steven Universe*Ahem*)

Having been out of it for years, I'm not even sure what's going on with these channels at all, but figured that's the route they've been at for quite some time. I sorta miss where it was in the late 90's/early 2000's, that was the peak.

Cartoon Network promo tapes and promo tapes in general are rare things, so if you were to sell it you'd get quite a bit from that.

It's in pretty good condition too. Mine's mostly well-preserved but the Weasel tape's tracking is a little off.

Who knows. I didn't put this tape together! Of course I also wonder why Mina and the Count ended up on Nickelodeon later on (The "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" initiative) but that's besides he point!

$100 is a pretty good price - and people will probably be willing to pay even more for the chance to own "Mock 5" and "My Friend, the Smart Banana."

I feel absolutely lucky to have gotten my copies at a Savers for five bucks. Probably the luckiest find I ever found next to a VHS box set with every Betty Boop cartoon on it.

Thrift stores always has surprises, I found a working Virtual Boy at a Savers in my town for $5! Doesn't have the AC chord but Mario's Tennis was stuck inside.

The Last Unicorn will always be one of my favorite films. The animation is gorgeous, the characters are unique, and I like how it's more thoughtful than it seems at first glance...Everything about that film is perfect (i'm such a sperg for it).

The Thief and the Cobbler (original cut) is also a gem, if only for the trippy animation.

Classic Simpsons will always be gold, and of course I can't get enough of South Park or the Critic. I'm kinda glad the Critic ended earlier, though, because otherwise it would turn into another new Simpsons/Family Guy scenario. On the other hand, I so wanna see Jay commenting on all the crap films that've come out in the last years...
