What game did you finish today?

Finished Dark Souls 2 and rolled a new character right away. I loved Dark Souls 2's mechanics and combat, dislike Soul Memory kinda but the Agape ring fixes some things. Also, wasn't that fond of the atmosphere of the game when it comes to the characters. There are some good characters, but I kind of didn't get the same feeling of desperation from the characters as Dark Souls 2.

Also,
nobody seems to go hollow in Dark Souls 2 to the point where they'd attack you like in Dark Souls 1 so the whole hollowing mechanic feels rather superficial rather than integral like in Dark Souls 1

Looking forward to the DLC.

Finished Firewatch in about 4 hours and it has a disappointing ending. It has hardly any gameplay! Nobody buy this... ever!

Firewatch. @Ronald Raygun brought the game to my attention - I had never heard of it prior.

I liked it. It was definitely...different. I kinda liked what they did with the story and I thought the two characters were well written.

I would not, however, pay the full price for it if you're the sort of gamer who feels as though a short game isn't getting your "money's worth" or anything like that. I'm not that strict about it personally (I do like a good return on investment, but I don't like padding either), but it did seem certainly as though it wasn't a $20 game. I finished the story in about three hours and from what I'm reading, there aren't multiple endings or anything, just variations on the story. And the gameplay isn't really gameplay, such as it is. It feels more like a voiced, interactive 3D visual novel rather than a game.

Still, I liked it. I thought the characters were, as mentioned, well written and I genuinely enjoyed the ramp up in the middle and even the ending, which I understand is quite controversial. And the "gimmick" of communicating with Delilah is a treat.

Just finished Baldurs Gate 2 for the second time and Before the Echo.
Enjoyed my second playthrough of BG2 more than the first, but still not a fan of the game.
Before the Echo remains my favorite rhythm game though.
I like BG2 a lot, but even with all its fancy classes and subclasses it certainly doesn't compare to Planescape Torment.

Just finished Hotline Miami. I still love the game, but the last few missions felt a bit uninspired and after all the setup the rather vague ending was kind of unfulfilling. Still, I'm ready to plunge myself into part two!

Just finished the newly released Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth on the Vita! I had some serious buyer's remorse when I bought my Vita last year, but this has completely banished any doubts I had. Character design and writing was good (albeit a bit risque for a kids' franchise), storyline was actually coherent and enjoyable for a JRPG, and I'm a sucker for turn based combat, and not to mention the endless nostalgia points for being a 90s kid. GG, Bamco. G frickin' G.

Just finished GTA: San Andreas.

Very enjoyable game. I had quite a few frustrations with it,as I was playing the PC version, which was prone to crashing and forcing me to restart my entire computer multiple times. And the flight missions were absolute hell. Still, I really enjoyed the overall vibe this game had.

Starting off as a street thug in the hood, working your way up and doing stuff like taking over territory from rival gangs, working within a criminal organization and ultimately taking them out with the help of a friend and his crew from the San Fiero Triads, frantically driving around town jacking police bikes for a casino heist, ect. And then finally going back to your humble beginnings and helping your family and gang take back your home and kill the guys responsible for all the trouble you've gone through.

Plus, I love the songs that play in the game. Made me appreciate rap and hip hop quite a bit more.

Finished my first Fallout 4 run...and ended up being dissapointed. Why did they move away from the slider " this is how your actions affected the various places/people" endings? It worked really well in FO1,2 and New Vegas. Well gonna see what happens with the ending for the other factions.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Enjoyed it quite a lot - more than I expected. Characters were well-written, plot had a bunch of fun twists, and the gameplay (if a bit simplistic) was fun. I've never played a visual novel before so I have no idea if how this compares to the rest of the genre, but I am looking forward to the sequel which is supposedly due out on Steam.

I finally beaten Dong Dong Never Die as Sheng Hua Nan (basically, my current avatar, the Chinese Skynet Terminator). I do wonder if I couldn't beat the game as him on my computer because of something like the CPU but perhaps I was just lucky not getting any crashes once I reached the beach stage.

The other day I finished Fallout 3. I absolutely loved it. I clocked in over 100 hours in the game. It was quite addicting and enjoyable to say the least. I wasn't able to download all the DLCs from the 2nd disc of the GOTY edition because I needed a Hard Drive not a Flash Drive. It's worth the replay but I won't be replaying it again for a while. I need a detox.

DLC for fallout 3 is ok. Point Lookout is by far the best and seriously worth the money. It's taking everything within me to not elaborate as to why but that would ruin it for you if ever you do play it. Mothership Zeta is pretty good too. New Vegas DLC is where it's at though.

Also back on topic... I finished Borderlands 2 for the third time today.

Finished playing "Unravel" last night and finished "Layers of fear" last week. "Unravel" was something not usually in my wheelhouse in that it's a more more "sweet" kind of tale about love and nostalgia, woven (no pun intended) throughout a bunch of physic puzzle. Honestly the story didn't do much for me, although the dedication the team who put it together brought a smile to my face. They really cared about the game and it shows. Still, for me it was an interesting experience and one I was glad to have, but not one I'm so inclined to go back and find all the little hidden prizes.

Layers of Fear was also an interesting romp for me, mostly because of how it played. This isn't a typical horror game, in that I didn't really ever felt fearful of dying, but all the same I was tense throughout because the game does a marvelous job of fucking with the player visually and audibly. Right from the onset, it's obvious the character you're playing as is mentally unsound, and what follows is him going further and further mad. Although I hate to draw comparisons, think of this game kind of like being like Eternal Darkness meets PT and the character is REALLY into Hieronymus Bosch. Strongly recommended.

I spent this Saturday at a friend of mine who has a ps3 and we played through Asura's Wrath, and the hype was real! Many manly tears were shed at the end.

Completed the AVGN Adventures game on the easiest difficulty. Planned to find some hidden characters and cameos until I decided to beat it on higher difficulties if I'm brave enough to do so.

Completed Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee again a few days ago.

Still one of my favorite games. And I'm kinda happy to find rescuing all 99 mudokons isn't as difficult as it used to be for me anymore.

Funnily enough, "Soulstorm" has just been announced. Sweet!

I beat A Link Between Worlds.. A little short, but makes me want more with the dungeon design.

I don't really agree mostly because of how Planescape Torment's gameplay was always sub par.

I remember one problem I had with the game for the longest time was how you were considered "playing it wrong" if you got into any combat.
