Some news from Alaska, apparently the MAGA candidate is losing even before they got to the ranked choice part.

Alaska election results: Murkowski takes lead in tight ranked-choice general election (Archive)

Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski has taken the lead over Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka in the ranked-choice Senate contest that won't be resolved until at least next week.

As of Saturday morning, Murkowski leads Tshibaka by fewer than 2,000 first-choice votes, with no candidate in the race claiming an outright majority that would end the election. Murkowski has 112,519 votes, 43.3% of the total vote share, and Tshibaka has 110,861 votes, 42.7%.

The deadline to receive absentee ballots was Friday, Nov. 18, and the tabulation of second-choice votes is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Under Alaska's ranked-choice voting system, voters must list the four candidates who advanced from a jungle primary in order of who they prefer to win. If no candidate receives a majority of first-choice votes on Election Day, the counting proceeds to a second round where the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. People who voted for that candidate have their votes redistributed to their second-choice. The counting continues until there are two candidates remaining and whoever has the greatest number of votes wins.

Based on the known results, Republican Buzz Kelley will be eliminated in the first round, holding less than 3% of the total vote. The Democratic candidate, Patricia Chesbro, currently has just 10.4% of the vote and will be the next to be eliminated. There are 34,358 votes between these candidates that will be redistributed to voters' second-choice candidates.

Given that Murkowski is a centrist Republican, she would appear to be more likely to benefit from the 26,974 votes Chesbro received than Tshibaka, who was endorsed by former President Trump.

On the news that she overtook Tshibaka's first-choice vote lead on Friday, Murkowski's campaign tweeted a GIF from the movie "The Usual Suspects," mocking her Republican challenger.

"And just like that … Kelly's claim that she only lost because of Ranked Choice was gone," text overlaying the GIF states.

Murkowski, an incumbent, has served in the Senate for 20 years, preceded by her father, Frank Murkowski, who was a senator from 1981 to 2002, when he resigned to become governor of Alaska. She was appointed to the Senate by her father and went on to win election in her own right.

A pro-choice Republican, moderate, and staunch ally of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Murkowski has antagonized her party's conservative faction for decades but proved resilient against would-be challengers. In 2010, she lost the Republican Senate primary to Tea-Party candidate Joe Miller, but went on to win that election as a write-in candidate. She faced Miller again in 2016, who ran as a Libertarian candidate, defeating him 44.4% to 29.2%.

No fan of Donald Trump, Murkowski voted to impeach the former president, which led to a Trump-backed challenge from Tshibaka, who previously served as a commissioner of the Alaska Department of Administration.

Tshibaka has accused Murkowski of voting to advance President Biden's agenda by confirming his administrative agency nominees and campaigned on more conservative populist issues like opposing critical race theory and sexual orientation and gender identity education in schools.

We've made it to 2004!

Looks like the liberal anti war movement is dead now, about 18 years later roughly lol.

Sorry, sometimes Commies really cheese my biscuits, especially 1st World Commies with practically free access to limitless human knowledge available to them at all times. Most (almost all!) of them even carry a device around with them 24/7/365 that's capable of these absolute magical feats. They can't be bothered to read and they especially can't stand to read anything that might puncture their preconceived-can't-be-challenged-or-reasoned-with-a-priori assumptions about the way the world works -now- and what has worked, and especially what -didn't- in the past.

Most of them don't even know the first thing about all the other times Marxism or Communism has been tried in different times and different countries. Just the USSR in the 20th century, and maybe a dash of Cuba, a smattering of Maoism and maybe hearing vague things about the Killing Fields in Cambodia (Mistakes were made! Now don't talk about it). They can only relate Vietnam to the American part in the long, long conflict, and anti-colonialism. The really really dumb ones swallow DPRK propaganda about the glories of Juche, the totally organic worship of their God-King leading family, and how wonderful things are there. None of them, not a single Commie I've ever met, and I've met hundreds, knows anything about African communism and its gibbering heresies, abject idiocies, corruption, and hideous, absolutely inhuman brutalities. And they don't want to hear about it either. Not even in a -Mistakes were made! (Now stop talking about it)- vein. In a -if you keep talking about this, we're going to have you fired, SWATTED, and threaten physical violence against you AND your family- kind of way. Who many of them have actually met and, I assume, liked.

Sometimes, it really does me good to go on a long detailed rant. Even when I know perfectly well none of them will read it.

I'm just gonna guess Aspen is full of the Kalifornia Kommie Krew and this election they added a decent-sized city also full of Californians to Boebert's district.
Aspen is a ski resort town, so its beyond full of those sorts. This dude is 100% imported faggotry and I am glad he lost.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspen,_Colorado
The city's character has transformed dramatically in recent decades by skyrocketing property values and the proliferation of second homes, increasingly shutting low- and middle-income workers out of the city and creating a large pool of commuters from nearby bedroom communities such as Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs. At the same time, in stark contrast to its historic character, the city has emerged into international fame as a glitzy playground of the wealthy and famous. Aspen has become a second and third home to many international jet-setters. Many people from the U.S. and abroad vacation in Aspen, especially during the winter.

The downtown has been largely transformed into an upscale shopping district that includes high-end restaurants, salons, and boutiques. Stores such as Gucci, Prada and Fendi dot South Mill Street and act as a "Rodeo Drive" of Aspen.
Guarantee you that faggot does his best to avoid any of the places where those pleb commuters live when they aren't providing for him.

Residential real estate in Aspen proper has the world's highest per-square foot cost of any ski resort in the world, funnily enough.

yes I often argued if these people just read the political economic philosohy the support they would walk away more educated and bit smarter

I just wish he actually showed us the data. Like what constitutes a bot? Is it Twitter made (before Musk came into the picture), government made, etc. (as in where is it coming from)? Is majority of Twitter nothing BUT bots? You know, things like that.
Probably something simple. Several accounts from the same IP. Only issue would be the VPN niggers but Indians and Trannies aren't smart enough to use a VPN.

Actual history and actual political theory generally bores them or is too difficult for them to read, either intellectually or emotionally. Even the ones who teach and write about Communism and History on an academic level mostly don't. They just read a round-robin of papers written by other people who don't read actual history or economic theory or the actual source code of their political theory. The important thing is that those people are part of a consensus. You wouldn't want to be part of the outgroup, do you? Opportunities for advancement go away, economic bennies like fellowships dry up, your salary freezes if not goes backward, you may be fired without cause (and good luck proving that!). You may even get the threats I mentioned. If you really, truly piss them off, you'll get all of the above, plus your access to banking and credit systems revoked with no way to appeal, and so will your spouse/other close family members, and you'll get actual violence directed at your property and your loved ones.

I'm pointing out extreme possibilities, but every single thing I've said has actually happened to academics who go against the grain. It's easier to go along and get along. It's a normal human reaction to stick your head in the sand, when sticking your head up might destroy your life. A lot of them are cowards, some are legitimate true believers, but they all understand ingroup/outgroup dynamics as it relates to the petulant and spoiled hothouse world of Higher Education, Inc.

Speaking of idiot commies, AOC opened her idiot mouth again to reeee about trump being allowed back on twitter

Even if Trump was responsible for what the crowd did that would mean Bernie is responsible for what Antifa does.

Prison world is different from our world. In prison world touching someone’s empty, useless food tray will get you a beating, because you touched their stuff. If you were trying to be nice and get it for him, that would have been an understood fact days before you started doing it. If the past two statements were hyperbole, it ain’t by much, prison rules are that bad.
And how long before we hear about folks wanting our world to turn into prison world and that being a good thing because”the problems plaguing the country will solve themselves” ?

Considering how often you'll hear the Right Wing bitch that if the left goes too far with a given thing, they'll cause them to finally snap and start gunning them down in the street - I think we're already there. Its a pretty regular response to peak left wing stupidity that we just need to wait for them to fuck around and find out.

Ron DeSantis wants everyone to know that he has no relationship with anyone who is saying that he plans on running in 2024

In a letter sent Friday to DeSantis' donors, Benjamin Gibson, legal counsel for DeSantis, said he had "recently learned through media reports that a super PAC apparently named ‘Ron to the Rescue’ ('PAC') is being formed reportedly ‘in order to boost a potential 2024 presidential run from Governor Ron DeSantis.’ This is similar to other ‘pro-DeSantis’ PACs that have formed and continue to use Ron DeSantis’ name and likeness to raise funds without his permission or authorization."

"Whether well intentioned or not, the organizers of these PACs have not been in contact with DeSantis leadership and such efforts may create confusion amongst supporters of the Governor and his policies," Gibson wrote.

There's been a lot of conspiracy theories floated around by various bit players and schizos, the Governor would like to put them to rest.

Good that he's quashing these rumors now before they're allowed to gain momentum. It's pretty apparent DeSantis would prefer to do a little "MFGA" before he moves onto MAGA. His time will come, but it will be tremendously wasted if he jumps the gun for 2024. 2028 and onward gives him time to refine his realpolitik.

The left has been so fucking desperate for a civil war. If you know anyone with TDS you probably know how much they've been hoping for DeSantis to run against Trump

Ehh still too early to think that IMO. To play devil's advocate this could simply be DeSantis not wanting the grifters to preempt any announcement bid; such things would directly interfere with DeSantis' team's marketing and campaign management since the lead up to such a bid is as important as announcing the bid itself (see Trump teasing his announcement right before the midterms).

It's likely DeSantis knows what a Presidential run at this stage would do to his political aspirations (as his comments or lack of to date are basic political play), but we'll need to get through summer without one before it can be confidently said he's not vying for 2024.
