US Five people killed and at least 18 injured in mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado


Five people were killed Saturday night at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, police announced. Another 18 people were injured in the mass shooting at Club Q.

“They did locate one individual who we believe to be the suspect inside,” said Colorado Springs Police Lt. Pamela Castro. “At this point in time, the suspect is being treated, but is in custody.

Castro did not clarify whether the suspect was included in the count of people who were injured in the shooting.

Police declined to speak about a possible motive. Colorado Springs Fire Capt. Mike Smaldino said 11 ambulances responded to the scene after multiple 911 calls were received.

“We will be here for many, many hours to come,” said Castro.

In a statement on social media, Club Q said it was “devastated by the senseless attack on our community” and offered condolences to victims and their families.

“We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack,” the statement said.

Early reports indicate that the suspect entered the nightclub wearing body armor and began firing with an AR-15 style assault rifle, according to two law enforcement officials briefed on the shooting. He was tackled and subdued by someone inside the club, possibly a combat veteran, the officials said.

I don't think I've ever seen the police respond quickly, let alone within 6 minutes.

You'd think I would feel unnerved or distraught by this sort of thing like how I was with the Pulse Nightclub incident years back, but... I'm not. I feel nothing about this aside from a very tiny amount of pity.

Hell, I'd almost say LGBTQ has this coming and more, given how the activism has only served to piss off normies more and more that the sympathy is just drying up (outside of those with hard leftist progressive mindsets anyway.) What I'm really going to feel is the utter revulsion towards the MSM as they inevitably propagandize this as "muh heckin genderspecialinos need protecc from the chuds and harder gun controlerinos and heckin child dragerinos must continue unabated!"

Tiresome.

There seems to be a lot of bars and nightclubs in that part of Colorado Springs (also a medical center/hospital). I’m not surprised if a few patrol cars were stationed in the area, hence the 6 minute response.
