This just doesn't seem like a good investment for Americans or their interest.

3) You are kind of demonstrating why I no longer wish to see any further support for Ukraine. I've noticed that the Ukrainian government and Uber-Ukraine supporters seem to think they're entitled to money. That when it is questioned why more money and weapons should be given, they pout and whine like spoiled brats, showing no signs of gratitude or appreciation. People who object to putting more at risk for a nation with serious innate corruption are told they are moral criminals.

Point blank: If all you have is too belittle and try to make people feel guilty when they don't wish to get any further involved into this shitshow, to try to guilt people into choose one side over the other (in your case Ukraine), that speaks volumes about YOU. You're misunderstanding your own country and also willingly ignoring how empires and spheres of influence work.
Much of the prosperity America enjoys is because of those "world police" actions and alliances on a global scale. Want it or not, your country is engaged in a battle for hegemony, with 2 main challengers. Only because nuclear war is too dangerous and destructive we're not in an open WW now.
You also misunderstand the reasons for war and geopolitics. Ukraine's corruption and wars (ethnic war, not sectarian) are irrelevant, as Ukraine is just a pawn in a much bigger game. You don't "invest" in it out of the goodness of your heart, that never happened in America's past. You invest in it because you compete against inimical empire.
You might be correct though that this is not in the interest of the American population, which must take a loss in quality of life and risk a war. But you have to understand that this is a very big game, where people and lives are just another resource to be used, and the game lasts decades. A severely weakened Russia forced to take another Yeltsin at the helm would be of tremendous interest to the US. It might even become an ally against China. It might even receive a buffer zone in East EU, if it plays nice with America.

Why are Ukrainians lecturing Americans, Western Europeans, and other nations about how they are entitled to foreign money? The world had bent over backwards, not only in financial foreign aid, but also in allowing special migration provisions for Ukraine passports, fast tracking refugee status, and countless charities and shelters. Point blank, I can't think of one time when Zelensky or his citizens have expressed gratitude, a simple "thank you", to the world in their time of need. Hell, I actually think I have been insulted by them and then told to give more money.

Furthermore, Russia would in no way be a good buffer to China, even if it lost this war. It has corruption and organized crime issues that will always undermine the US' interest in the region. I hope one day that isn't the case, but I will probably be an old man if it ever occurs. The financially illiterate shills of this thread are arguing over the impact of a rounding error in the US military budget. $40 billion is barely $100 per American, and not even 1% of the yearly budget for the US government. Aint nobody gonna be lifted out of poverty for $40 billion, and that's ignoring that most of the aid is in already existing weapons or American jobs. It literally doesn't matter at all, the war probably would be going the same way regardless of any US intervention, because it just doesn't matter.

The US lost 7,000 troops in Afghanistan, over the 20 years that war went on. Russia has lost...over 10 times that many, in a single year. With half the population. If this war goes on any longer, Russia's gonna run out of able-bodied 18-30 year-old men. The Ukrainian casualties, meanwhile, are...who cares? They're fighting a war of survival anyway, they're not gonna give up. When all of this is over, Eastern Europe is gonna be a wasteland just begging for a strong country to impose their will over it.
