Trent Reznor and Jack White were only ”edgy” and “cool” to TPTB that allowed them to be anti-authority to the establishment. It’s funny that TDS can also be an acronym for NIN’s “The Downward Spiral” album, since Trent let the alcoholism and doomer-like songs get the best of him of his career.

As far as Jack White goes, he’s probably just stuck up over the fact that The White Stripes isn’t as popular as he thought he would have been when compared to his solo career.
