Here's an interesting post by u/Plantdaddyx.
She talks about her consult with a Singaporean surgeon and it appears he has quite an opinion on these surgeries.

Here's the copypaste.
Went for my first consult with a potential surgeon today. I have mixed feelings about him since there were quite a few red flags. It's just disappointing because I've to start looking for another surgeon.
Some of the red flags were:
- he has no issues with straight trans men but has issues with those who are gay/bi/pan etc. He said they are too "complicated" for him to understand. I'm not straight and hearing that from him sounds pretty homophobic. Plus he seems to have issues saying gay as if it is a dirty word. He would use other terms like "homo".
- he said he won't do meta again because after doing it once and that patient had very serious complications after. Ironically he said phallo is easier than meta? Never heard of anyone saying that before.
- he said some misogynistic and ablist stuff about some of his patients' exes as well as mine
- he name drops patients? Like who does that? I don't even know them. This worries me because what if he tells other patients about me? I'm not out and stealthing. I get it if he is trying to explain certain situations or previous surgeries he did but he didn't have to name drop?
- he said that certain complications were so disgusting it made him want to throw up. I mean he is talking about someone's body? And they way he talked about botched jobs from other surgeons was pretty unkind and uncalled for coz that is still someone's body?
- he also said how certain peens made by other surgeons didn't look "normal" or "natural" just because it doesn't look cis.
I'm just really confused whether he is trying to help trans people or not? On one hand he said he's fighting for us against the healthcare system which discriminates us. He also said he is trying to get more hospitals and healthcare workers to provide trans healthcare but yet it seems like he only caters to those who want to marry and have kids. This is exhausting. I definitely won't be going to him after this experience since I don't feel safe as someone who isn't straight.
I actually agree with him with meta being inferior to phallo. Like most, I thought it was the less invasive surgery but looking at the meta sub it seems to have more difficult complications with no ability to reverse it in any meaningful way. With phallo you can a least do what stumpdick did and remove it.
She doesn't reveal the surgeon but in another comment she does say he's not trans surgeon, he usually does reconstruction on real men.
