I don't think he's 'above' it, I think he'd be far better at it. Dude's a sex pervert, but he's a cockroach and a survivor when it comes to creepy HR tech culture, and if he got accused of a rape he actually committed I'd expect the safe and generic "we had consensual sex" defense because nobody can ever debunk that beyond a reasonable doubt. All it takes for that ridiculous dog hair story to be blown the fuck out is for the victim to say "No it wasn't dog hair it was an actual rape" and the guy's a confirmed rapist beyond a shadow of a doubt. The thing with cutesy garish pictures of stereotype girly things and liking soft toys, Pokémon and all that really childish shit is what I find very bothering about this culture.
Plastering it everywhere just murders my ability to take anyone seriously.
I am sorry to say I can’t even take seriously a couple of people I know who run a “Kaiwaai” shop, filled with such cutesy garbage.
I get that they have to fit the image and their appropriate customer base like that two anime girls (genuine adult women, but ridiculous dress sense) run it.
It’s successful by normal metrics and to my knowledge, there are no rich parents or partners propping it up, so kudos.
I still think they are a pair of silly girls though, too my detriment if needs be!
Things can be cartoonish, like a cartoonish logo or mascot for a company, but going to a conference and finding a mess of stickers I would expect to find on 6 year old girls schoolbooks and toys is just fucking ridiculous.
A grown adult, male, female or masquerading as one or the other wearing a cartoon character hoodie is just an instant confidence killer for me.
Maybe I am hurtling into boring old fart territory, but even as a kid I would rather talk to an adult in formal dress about a work situation, than someone I worry has wandered away from their responsible carer.

It seems to me he has gotten away with it. It's only in the last month or so that it's started to gain any form of acknowledgement, and even then he appears to remain gainfully employed and it's just ignored by his peer group. Also, if consent accidents happen, it wouldn't surprise me if there were more that he had covered up even more successfully.
The only evidence we have of this accusation is his defence of himself, seemingly because it was starting to get too public for his liking and he felt he had to address it. There was also posted that reply where a presumed mutual friend backed up that the victim was crazy. That's pretty covered up, to me.
But of course this remains irrelevant, because again, he admitted to the consent accident. When he was the victim of a consent accident, it got updated to 'rape during hypno play' pretty quickly. So while I appreciate the effort to keep the thread in reality rather than speculation, holding Fong-Jones to his own standards isn't speculative. He did the consent accident, he said so, so he's a self-admitted rapist.
