Criteria for membership varies by tribe, some have blood quantum laws for example, some don't. It wouldn't be a surprise a "tribe" centered around people pretending to be Native American wouldn't have strict standards with that in mind though. The Wampanoag in particular haven't been really relevant since the 1600s so who knows how these individuals are related to them.

It doesn't matter. One of the core elements of these people's "philosophy" is that past generations are dumb and backward and created precisely nothing good. To them, the past is evil.
It's this same idea that gave us Flat Earthers.
