I will say the CNN article is a lot more on point than most coverage. But it still swings wide, mostly because it A) acknowledged Alison's unethical moonlighting but still takes her side because she was "harassed" and B) completely fails to discuss the real controversy surrounding her.

The non-Funhaus episodes of The Know are clickbait trash. While that host is from Funhaus, you can tell it's a Rooster Teeth video because in the description is says 'written by: ...' instead of listing sources. The Know was only made so Rooster Teeth could pretend to be journalists and get into E3 and other such places; they don't actually care if it's good or not. I didn't bother to watch it but it sounds like the usual quality of video they put out.

He wasn't even a has-been. In his time as a kicker, he was rated as one of the worst in the league. He sucked hard. He's a fucking lolcow and a half. When he played for the Vikes, he immediately made the management regret their decision. He's not completely stupid and saw the writing on the wall: he was not long for the league. A normal person given such a golden fucking opportunity would have tried harder. They would have practiced harder and been more humble. Not Kluwe! He immediately went to the local news and started claiming that he was getting heat from the league for openly supporting homosexual marriage.

Sorry for offtopic, but he could be worthy of a thread.

I'm all for people being free to express whatever opinions they want and don't necessarily believe that someone's views should be legitimate grounds to fire someone. In this case though, it's pretty cut and dry. Alison Rapp's words and actions were definitely not in keeping with Nintendo's traditional image. I've seen people citing Bayonetta 2 as an argument for keeping Rapp on, which is a fairly dumb example to throw out there. Yeah, sure, they funded the game and let Platinum have free reign with it, but that was never supposed to be anywhere near the kids unlike this chick.

Honestly, she should've been shown the door way earlier. It's not like she was even trying to hide the modelling stuff or that thesis of hers, so it's kind of a miracle she even lasted this long. Guess NoA were willing to give her a shot so long as she didn't fuck it up, but I'm thinking she probably kicked off behind the scenes and that's what's led to her being let go. The lynch-mob are a bunch of idiots who can't keep their facts straight, her supporters are doormats, she's gonna be bloody lucky to find a position anywhere near as prestigious as the one she's just left and Nintendo took way too long to come up with a response to all this unless, as I speculate, something happened internally that caused the whole thing to come to a head.
