KO_OP has delayed narrative adventure game Goodbye Volcano High from its previously planned 2022 release window to summer 2023. It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.

I'm actually surprised by the delay, my original theory was all the hit pieces coming out for Snoot Game meant Volcano High's release was imminent and their strategy was to try and drum up publicity and sympathy by building a "small indie game stands up to mean 4chan trolls" type narrative.

Obviously I gave them too much credit. Maybe they're trying to tide over their target audience knowing it was going to be delayed, or maybe they're just retarded. I believe either one.

At least the trailer art is pretty sweet.

They could have rode Snoot Game's popularity, pretty much the only thing that gave them publicity in the past year, but no, they had to do a complete redesign. Since KO_OP sounds like an adult daycare, I suspect they are going to fail to deliver.
Even if the game gets released somewhere down the line, no one's gonna care.

Not really, even seems on the discord server there haven't been any actual announcement dates of the games release.

Best part about the trailer is how they linger on "sing" and then some lady starts indie singing, which will probably be how Fang sounds in the game, because she's a woman and everyone who hears her even in-universe will think "oh, she sounds nice," because non-binary isn't real.

How disingenuous do you have to be to write this. They won't let players fundamentally reassert Fang's femininity or change her worldview for the better because that's Snoot Game's territory. They also won't let players let Fang become anything negative because people might take joy in destroying a fart-sniffing they/them. What a joke.

Goodbye Volcano High devs re-opened their Steam discussion forum after it was spammed by 4chan. It was then spammed by 4chan again.
Not a single one of these threads is actually supportive of GVH if you open them. They all praise Snoot.

The fact that Steam and Discord are both open for business again leads me to think they were told by somebody that you fucking need engagement to successfully launch a product, and even negative engagement is often beneficial. Some marketing professional kicked all their asses and said suck it up and deal with it. You don't have to embrace Snoot Game, but you have to seethe and cope and let people talk, or else everyone will see your Steam/Discord/Reddit/Twitter presence as a wasteland.

The good ending?
Hopefully Fang applying suicide with a rope as the secret ending can be neat in a lot of levels: either being a parody, victim of society or simply a cheap factor shock final scene.

If I had to guess, I would say the game intends to be like Mass Effect 2.
Fang and his buddies are struggling with angsty, queer teen issues. Fang gallantly takes it upon herself to help everybody. She has to be extra super special nice to everyone and help them get over their bullshit. Sometimes two characters may have opposite views and fight, which Fang can sort out. The good ending is the gang agreeing to quit bitching, Fang realizing how important her friends are yada yada yada. The asteroid misses the planet, as it represents their problems. The bad ending happens, if she fails to appease her friends, so everyone ends up miserable and the asteroids hits. Other endings are something in-between, the asteroid either hits, or misses, depending on how many of the group stayed together.
