Diseased Open Source Software Community - it's about ethics in Code of Conducts

I don't necessarily disagree. It's just getting to the point where projects that I have to use in a professional setting are starting to become a liability, because there's no knowing if some activist dev might drop a retarded logic bomb into a release and break shit for stupid reasons. Again. It's made me wary, whenever devs or project maintainers start spouting off like this.
Well, and even if it's not outright sabotage, even just goofy clauses they put into licenses like "YOU CANNOT USE THIS SOFTWARE IF YOU WORK FOR X, Y and Z" is also super unprofessional.

It's something Cloudflare should've thought of (albeit in a service context).

Old school open source developers, even the super left wing ones, still had an autistic respect for utility being a neutral virtue. Tools are tools, they can be used for good or for evil.

The thing with modern insane SJW devs nowadays, is that they are very fickle and can change their minds on a dime.

Right now it might be forbidding ICE from using their software, but let's say we get a republican president in the next election. Are they going to start blocking other government departments? What about companies that build software for the government?

And it's not all take, take, take from people like me. When I encounter bugs in an open source project that I use for work, I'm very capable of drilling down to the cause and opening intelligent bug reports. I'm not a braindead end user. Sometimes I'll even offer fixes.

Open source / free software has only been as good as it was in the past because more eyes make bugs shallow. You get better quality software when you let more people use it.

It's amusing that it's the far left dumbasses nowadays who are failing to see the value in community labor.

I'm so, so glad I never went all in with SourceHut despite it ticking all my boxes from a technical standpoint.

After Jan 6 he became super political but promised not to ban Trump supporters. Then he started banning anyone hosting things that support anything right wing. Just recently he banned anything related to Cryptocurrency.

Whatever high horse he's on at the moment he'll weaponize his source code hosting platform to enforce. And he's not even tranny!

Nigga was complaining that anyone who doesn't like wayland is an anti-vaxxer, you seriously expected consistency or even sanity?

I just want someone to provide the advertised service in exchange for taking my money.
That's too much to expect in year of the current.
This is why you actually read those contracts when it's about any amount of money worth caring about, and sue at the drop of a hat.

Also +NIGGER if you're anon.

Almost any digital services contract today has some kind of ToS or AUP, which is interpreted as they can do anything they want, such as Zayo terminating the Farms because some lunatic on Twitter asked them to. Suing requires resources most don't have, and you might still get a judge, such as Parler did, who rules against you because they don't like you.

Also, there are some near-monopolies. Airbnb has no real competitor in its space, and will cancel your reservation without notice and ban your account if they don't like your politics.

Most of these aren't for real amounts of money though. They're ISP contracts for personal use, cell phone contracts, other things for $20 a month or whatever. When you're talking about dropping thousands a month you are in a better position to negotiate terms or find someone else willing to take your money.

Null's contract with Zayo was $2000/month for three years. Source (15:58). That's not riches but it's not nothing either.

I don't know what Parler was paying AWS, but considering they claimed to have 20 million users at the time, their hosting costs were probably substantial.

Yet both these contracts were immediately dropped without recourse, in violation of their own terms, just because.

The problem may be the amount of the contract relative to the size of the corporation. It's bad business, but Amazon and Zayo can brush off a loss of this size.

I remember when the idea that ignoring the feminists and trannies to rid ourselves of them was commonly repeated. I forget who wrote it, but it tickled me to no end seeing some fool bemoaning the fact that Free Software is volunteer work meant the diversity requirements couldn't be foisted on them as they can be with a suitably-large business.

One way Free Software is truly like Communism is in the rejection of unrelated social causes that would only serve to weaken the true goal.

This is how you know close to all end-user-facing problems on the Internet have been 'solved' as in made trivial to overcome for normies. You want to see something you like? Go to the content spigots at YouTube and the social media thing of the day. Hate someone? Denounce them on twitter, maybe you'll get clout and an itty bitty slice of power. Search for the name you know someone by best, you will probably be able to contact them directly on Facebook. Search will never produce results that upset you or make you behave in a way that's not simple-minded and 'prosocial.' The final triumph of the normie is when their dream world is contemptible to themselves.

This is the attitude of someone with no problems to solve. Whose only contact with software is for trivial bullshit or maintaining already implemented solutions. The only time when technical solutions to technical problems are irrelevant compared to the beliefs of the problem-solver is when you have no perceived problems to solve. For almost every one of these retards if the Internet stayed at ca. 2020 forever they'd be as happy as a pig in shit.

> be troon, member of a group known for uniformly bad takes and being generally batshit insane
> batshit insanity still gets blamed on Judaism

Just anti-semite things
You have to admit the „your ingroup needs to be overrun by members of the outgroup“ rhetoric is something that is stereotypically Semitic. The troonery doesn’t help, but even that tends to be pushed by members of the tribe. See also: the „which books were burned“ meme.
