Cultcow Evangelist Dr. Robert McKim, Sr. - Carrollton, Ohio: crazy preacher, "doxing is illegal!!!" Apocalypse bacon. BISEXUAL. Downs Syndrome, wears PAJAMAS to church

He has associate degrees in mental health, either from community colleges or dubious vocational schools.

Unless it's been proven otherwise, I'm dubious on whether or not those degrees are legit, too. A lot of Christian diploma mills will also offer bullshit degrees in everything from counseling to social work to education in addition to theology degrees. None of them accredited. None of them worth the paper they're printed on.

@Fenwick You are correct, to operate under the title of clinical psychologist, you need doctorate in psych (ph.d or psy.d) and have done all the licensing requirements for your state.
You could also practice with a Master's degree with a degree in social work (Master's of Social Work or MSW). Historically MSWs take on less serious work than full on doctorate shrinks.

However, the the term "therapist" isn't a licensed term. It's used interchangeably, but technically anyone can call themselves a therapist. As long as you're not telling people you have a doctorate, or try and take insurance or are passing yourself off as the real deal, you can charge people for advice. I guess it's like consultation.
But yea, you could technically rent a space and charge people for advice, so long as you're not claiming to be a psychologist.
If he's claiming to be a ph.d then he's in trouble, since his degrees are not valid and I'm sure any "clinical program" he did is not APA accredited.

I don't know what his undergrad uni is, but I've never heard of that degree. Typically you get a B.A or B.S. in general psychology and possibly a certificate if you take certain classes (and honesty, most undergrad psyc certificates don't seem to do much). You could do a Bachelors in public health or something similar, but I have no idea what the hell his "degree" would even mean since, as said, you can't really do anything legit in the psyc field with just a B.A/B.S.

He has associate degrees in mental health, either from community colleges or dubious vocational schools. In other words, he's qualified to work as an entry level health and human services worker, and as he has written about, he was a job coach for disabled people at one time. He also has a certificate in private security and had vocational training to drive a school bus and be a home health aide.

His fantasy is that he's a highly educated evangelist and counselor who everyone is out to get because he preaches the truth, which they don't want to hear. Everything bad that happens to him is the result of Satan and Satan's agents to try to get him to doubt God. The reality is that he's a toothless hillbilly living in a trailer park and a bitter, paranoid old fool that no one takes seriously.
His degrees in religion come from https://store.ulc.net/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1831 (http://archive.is/tHNx3). I'd be willing to bet his degree in mental health comes from a similar bogus website.

It's even easier than that. Thunderwood College (http://archive.is/qfjYw) grants free, instant degrees, all the way up to Doctorate, in a variety of interesting disciplines.

Here's one for Bob the Slob, if he's lurking here:

Fair enough, but the listing for his "practice" does, in fact, state that he's a Psychologist multiple times with no mention of Therapist which is why I wondered.

Found some more stuff and figured I'd share.

1. Slightly of interest, he is listed in a "With Appreciation" publication from the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church as giving a "gift" to an assistance program.

2. His mom's obituary (http://archive.li/5wzyh):

763111

3. In addition to his psychology practice, he also has a listing for his Soul Clinic (http://archive.li/ODpLb) (which has a positive review) and he's listed on a chiropractor hub (http://archive.li/QK37Q):

763116

763118

4. A letter to the editor (https://web.archive.org/web/2019051...sreporter.com/article/20120930/News/309309963) that he wrote about hate crimes

763119

5. A Yahoo group (http://archive.li/KUxsz) that he was posting on in 2002-2003 and then again in 2010 with posts about:

a) Selling Bibles:
763123

b) Information about his divorce:
763124

763125

763126

763127

763129

c) A post about the Tripolitan war and the end of days:
763130

763131

d) A petition to save marriage and a negative response from a fellow group member:
763132

e) A defense of his "degree":
763133

f) A "petition" to Congress that starts off talking about the Supreme Court and ends up discussing transgender rights:
763134

763135

g) A discussion of sins in which he seems to completely miss the point:
763136

h) Some stuff about the apartment he was living in before he bought his mobile home:
763137

763138

i) And last but not least, some more of his 'poor me, everyone but me is responsible for my problems':
763139

This is a fantastic find. Lol @ Rene listed as his "companion." Further proof that his marriage is as about as valid as his credentials.

I just had an epiphany (heh) --- Bob & Rene are both on SSI, right? With Bob's patchy work history & Rene's. . .whatever, I doubt they paid enough into Social Security to warrant getting SSDI. That said, I was thinking about two friends of mine that were both on SSI that had gotten married a year ago. I remember the husband grumbling about his benefits being cut as a result (http://archive.is/UeXCC), but they were both going back to work, so it wasn't a huge deal. I have a feeling THAT'S the reason Bob & Rene aren't married.

EDIT: & it looks like I might be right. Huge image dump forthcoming.

The "hate crime" that he is referring to is when an Amish gang (yes, they exist) cut the hair off of some women and shaved the beards of some men who were the gang's enemies. The perpetrators were charged with hate crimes as a result. For your information, what they did is one of the biggest insults in Amish culture. But sure, according to Reverend Blockhead this is the same thing as peaceful (though unpleasant) speech and taking care of a private matter.
