It wouldn't be the first time. The funniest example may be Shadow of War where he trashed every reviewer and streamer until he got to the last act, the thing people had a major problem with, and he complained just as much and quit playing.
I wouldn't care if he wasn't so fucking flakey with this shit. He skipped Saints Row without playing it because of what other people said. It wasn't a bad decision but he definitely did not play the game and make up his own mind about it.

I am guessing the latter. He got a 74$ tip yesterday but in his last streaming hour he didn't get anything (at least nothing official). And his Pokemon stream only ammounted to 63 $. He didn't even get 200 $ yesterday. Only his member count is slowly crawling upwards, he is 19 away from 500

If membership continues to climb consistently like that it is likely that one of the whales has wizened up. the blatant view-botting to gift hundreds of memberships was a bit much.
It'd be one thing if he said "I personally like it, but I can definitely see why others don't" and there's nothing wrong with that, but he's consistently obnoxious about feeling the need to have an opposite opinion on everything. Plus, his stubbornness over not wanting to admit he may be wrong makes it worse.

Maybe. For me I always thought he was an antisocial, above it all, malcontent. But back when everyone was spreading awareness for ALS all Phil saw was a bunch of people dumping ice on themselves and he sat there seething.
I think for Phil, it's more about proving that he's the only real honest reviewer/content creator and everyone else is a shill. That means they all have to be wrong, unless there's a title he doesn't want to play. When that happens, he's suddenly all about early review warnings. Guess someone they aren't paid shills for those games. It's Phil's way of trying to elevate himself and feel like less of a failure compared to all the other YouTubers/Streamers who are successful without having to resort to begging. That's also why he's bitter about charity streams or the Ice Bucket challenge, he wants to frame those creators as somehow being bad/greedy/fake/whatever else because he hates the fact that they are actually successful and big enough to do events like that, both in the sense they have an audience for it and that they can take a day/weekend to donate all their earnings.
I think he's still trying to get that precious love-me-daddy interview. Just through a different venue.
