The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Trailer doesn't look bad and they actually edited it well.

Nothing cringe inducing like The Watchmen, most of the shit is from the game, other than the fat eskimo couple.

I mean maybe there's some suggested retcons happening here that will effect the sequel. Because they're mentioning locations that where not in the two games. If they're making a part 3 I'm half expecting the second game to be retconned because you can't make more when you're written into a corner like that.
I like how fat this injun lady is. Her weight implies that in spite of being years into the shroom apocalypses the casino buffet line is still going strong.

Honestly if the apocalypse can't stop government subsidies to Indian reservations, that just proves just how out of control policy legislation is. There really is no pulling back once the government mandates something.

God, they will literally make a live action version of anything.
I bet this will, in typical live action fashion, be a big, steaming pile of shit.
How much are they gonna stray from the source material to tell their own "unique version of events"
And how much forced diversity are they gonna hamfist in there to appeal to the woke tards?

I can't wait to find out.

Well I believe the first tip off would be that Joel is now a spic and Ellie is the ugliest creature that was ever born.

How much fucking money did they lose on TLOU2 that it was discounted immediately, and then shit the remake out and then put it to PC?
Nobody knows, but considering all the releases that have happened after, it really didn't hurt them in the long run. The other games seems to have more than covered any type of shortfall that happened.

If the TV series sparks a GoT type following I'd more than expect 2 to be retconned by DLC or something so more games can be made. Sony is allegedly rebooting Uncharted since 4 was written into a corner and it's probably going to be under their new studio that was created to work on Naughty Dog IPs outside of Naughty Dog.

well the remake was always coming to pc. they announced that on their trailer at not e3. we just didnt have a date. i also dont think the second game was a bomb. it definitely made its money back, but it didnt sell as well as the first game in the launch window. it did after all only sell 10 million copies by 2022 which is 2 years after release. then again, the first game only made it to 20 million by 2019 which is about 6 years after its release. given more time, it will probably sell more copies eventually

I definitely think they're hiding the sales numbers after the launch window on purpose, since while impressive that number doesn't factor in the number of people who returned the game in disgust after the Joel-in-One was confirmed. You don't get a chain like Gamestop literally putting "not accepting returns" signs on the big fancy TLOU2 display literally the week of launch if things are at all okay.

The current remaster and renaming to 'Part 1' is entirely because they're hoping the HBO show is a hit, but I'm already seeing people who haven't played the game being skeptical. Things like "if this is several years after apocalypse, how are there still fat people"

Agreed. I think it was some thread I found on Resetera (ew I know) and it was a slew of weird fucking accessories it was bundled with dirt cheap. It sold ten million, but as you've said who knows how many were returns or flipped, or sold at half the cost or less.

No one fucking returned the original.

They probably lost more money on the remake than part 2, the remake sold fucking NOTHING and it wasnt cheap to make
all these losses are mounting up but sony bought the snake oil of "just wait for the live service game!" which will be the biggest flop and lose them the most money

What’s the sales figures on the remake?

Everything I seen in the gameplay and cutscenes looks like shitty decision making with everyone’s faces looking worse and mismatching with the acting.

Joel goes from looking buff and scary faced to looking like he has a less bulky body and softer expression.

Oh yeah I remember hearing about those. I think some retailers over in Asia were literally bundling the game with game consoles that couldn't even run the game just to get rid of stock.

20 mill is still a pretty big number for an exclusive, even if you count the timeframe and sony's bundling shenanigans. you don't get that number with a lot of positive reception and good will - which was ironically the only reason TLOU2 sold as much as it did, otherwise that shit would've bombed even harder.

Why a reboot? Couldn't they just continue the series with Nate's brother? Or Chloe? Or Nate's daughter?
Was the El Dorado plotline with the zombie spaniards and nazis really that revolutionary that you have to do it twice?
I bet most people could likely think up five new Uncharted titles at the top of their head.
