It's a lot more mean to publicly embarrass Cole than to publicly embarrass Chris because Cole is capable of feeling embarrassment.
Both Cole and Chris are goofy people to be laughed at. In general, I wouldn't feel right being too malicious to either of them. Being malicious to Cole might consist of pointing out that his primary "occupation", reviewing movies, is a farce. You couldn't do that to Chris about Sonichu because Chris simply wouldn't believe you. And not in an anxious/desperate "nuh uh, sonichu is totally cool
!" way, but because he really does think Sonichu is cool.Cole is far from a good brother.
I don't actually think Cole would respond. But I think he'd both hear about it, and be pretty buttmad about it.

What I don't get is, Cole's ego and refusal to defend his work prevent him from engaging in forums or on video. This means he deprives himself of the very thing he seeks, publicity. With some effort, Cole could easily attain at least a PewDiePie-level of fame... but he won't because that's not enough. Not only does Cole want to be recognized, he wants to be recognized for entirely positive reasons, despite doing nothing to earn his fame.

Cole can never be famous because of Chris. If he hits any kind of big media thing its inevitable that people will start mentioning his brother and JULAY. The only result is everyone reaches the logical conclusion that Chris is more interesting than Cole and ignores him completely.

PewDiePie is the most successful person on Youtube, both in terms of profit and being the most well known Youtuber. You'd have to be absolutely insane to think Cole would have a snowball's chance in hell of having anything even remotely close to that level of success, regardless of effort.
Cole would be, at best, able to attract a fraction of the relatively small group of people who follow Chris. For reference, Chris's Youtube channel currently has a little over 500,000 views. PewDiePie has 43 million subscribers and over 11 billion views.
Like I don't think PewDiePie is entertaining, but dude clearly knows how to appeal to an audience and turn a profit. Gotta respect the hustle.

If Cole produced more output and was rudimentarily funny, he might reach Amazing Atheist levels of fame. In order to do that he'd have to accept that part of his fame comes from his JULAY brother and sort of capitalize on it.
That is, his videos would have to be basically an in-joke. He might call himself "The Snobbish Cineast from 4-Cent Garbage" and do movie reviews similar to MST3k with Sonichu and the American Rabbit instead of the robots.
