How is it that someone who has been on youtube for years still has no idea how to make a thumbnail?

Bold of you to assume Jim has anything to do with making them. He's already done that really, really tough week's work of bringing up his script template to mildly edit to fit the topic. And then he has to stand in front of a camera and pretend to be funny/angry/ambivalent/ADHD/a woman for what I imagine is sometimes even upwards of an hour!
I mean between posting awkward selfies and complaining about JK Rowling on twitter, I'm surprised he even has the time to do that.

I'm pretty sure everyone has already gotten up in arms over the new Pokemon games selling 10 mil. despite their severe lack of polish.

Man, how DARE the consuming public not see into the future? How dare they buy something on day 1? People act like everyone will know the literal second a set of videos are uploaded that something will be public knowledge. Anyway, this may surprise you, but I kinda liked Sword and Shield. Scarlet and Violet seems to have done some things fans had wanted for some time (A less linear structure, the story not ruining the pacing, a Rival that isn't just a super best friend lol). How is it so hard to reach the conclusion "the performance is awful, but people really enjoy the game so they'll happily put up with it?" I guess that's the difference between observation and analysis...

Dwarf Fortress, now there's an accessibility issue just waiting for Jim's well thought out and nuanced opinions.

Much like Dark Souls, Dwarf Fortress already has an accessibility mode available. It's called Rimworld, and it has all the prettied up graphics and pared down mechanics needed to miss the point of the original product for the sake of keeping pilled out journos engaged.

Nothing else to add, but yuck, fat, yuck. I really used to love his videos. Now when I try to watch despite my very low tolerance for gender bs, to see if he's saying anything worth listening too, I can't. I'm all in favour of demanding more QA from my games, but I agree with you. Jim doesn't seem to get you can love something in spite of its (often glaring) faults, probably because he is now completely incapable of ever even entertaining the notion of seeing the good in anything. He also doesn't seem capable of understanding that just because something is a problem in his eyes that doesn't mean everyone is bothered by it, but that's life in an echo chamber for you.

Spoiler: Wherein I Gush About 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors

Personal example: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is one of my all-time favourite games, but the original version has fucking dogshit design. The core gameplay premise is you replay multiple times to make the right choices and get the true ending path, but the problem is every run has you doing at least some of the same puzzle rooms no matter what, and you have to mash through all the dialogue you've already seen just to get back to the one place where you made the wrong dialogue choice last time.

Later games in the series (and also the 999 re-release in the Nonary Games Trilogy) fixed this by having way, way more routes to choose from per run but also letting the player skip about in the timeline to wherever they want, but I still love the original game despite it's design issues because the story is compelling, the characters are interesting and what few puzzle rooms there are are fun to solve.

According to Jim I should hate 999 and never have bought it because it's not the exact perfect game I personally wanted it to be. Fuck off, fatty.

I remember clicking on one of his videos back in 'the day' and once he started talking with that accent, standing in front of that podium I got douche chills and clicked off and have been laughing at him ever since. Why is he still talking about Dark Souls easy mode though? Dark Souls is like ancient by now.

His voice is gross I agree and he always was an asshole but I loved his videos on random dumb steam games or good games he found. I started to dislike him when I used to download and watch the podcast thing, before I knew about the popcorn fucker Troon. He and the Troon would constantly cut off the other dude.
I guess it was more so what he was playing/reviewing vs. Him. I never liked him, but I did like that style of video games reviews back in the day.

An 800K cope video would be hilarious but too humiliating for him to even contemplate, he probably thought the 900K video was the only one he'd ever end up making. The best we can expect is that he'll mention the decline in subscribers in a video and act like he's happy that the racists and transphobes stopped watching him and are instead replaced by, er, nobody I guess.

There is zero money in the wrestling industry outside of the major companies like WWE, AEW, New Japan or CMLL. Even most wrestlers at top tier British promotions like Rev Pro do it as a hobby. If Jim actually focuses on his wrestling "career" he would become impoverished very quickly since none of the big companies would work with him in a million years, which is why we should all encourage it.

The very first time someone tried to show me one of his videos (maybe 2010/11?) I immediately wanted to beat the shit out of him, he was so obnoxious I couldn't understand how anyone could tolerate him.

I dunno why, but at some point it stopped bothering me, maybe because I started listening to Podtoid where he was much more chilled out and jovial so I recognised the JQ persona was just a bit. Today though he's cranked the obnoxious pompous bullshit off the charts, and like I say it's obvious he's no longer playing a character so it's all the more insufferable.
