TBF some small town vets are crazy cheap. My sisters cat was blocked and hospitalized for several days, they were prepared to spend several thousand, vet bill came to something crazy low like 500 for several nights, catheterization, fluids and antibiotics.

My work friend is still paying off her vet bill for the same thing in our city because it was in the thousands.

. Small town vets are great because they sure as shit aren’t in it for the money, they could probably make more as a doggy hotel.

We had an exotics professor from an out of town vet school who would show up with a fn posse, but was unreliable and also a total prick ultra-running screamer who sometimes threw objects at his techs. So we also had a local cat and dog lady that lets just say was near the bottom of the competency pyramid. But picked up the phone whenever we called (no one else did). .She more or less was responsible for the death of a juvenile bactrian Oh and guess who had to run down 30 goats for herd immunizations for her sedentary fatass. Lucky for her goats are in my top three. Couldn’t even band the nuts of two calves, a fucking VOLUNTEER did that for her. I could go on.

Hey y'all. I used to have to donate plasma like that, too. And let me tell you, that is, that is some of the miserable living that you'll have as a poor person. Me and my husband both had to do that until one day I couldn't do it anymore. And I scared so bad I won't let him do it either.

So what happened was I didn't have enough to eat, and then I had to wait an extremely long time before I could even donate. *deep gasp* And I got to the end of my donation. Which don't take me too long because I'm usually really hydrated. Like I kill a whole liter of water before I go in, because it makes you donate faster! And I don't drink caffeine before I go in!

So I'm in here donating and it's at the end of it, and they start giving you back your, uh, fluid. They give you, uh uh, give you... Citrate? Yeah, citrate! [they give you saline] *sniff* *deep sigh* I got the spins, I raised my hand [I don't know which hand she used, but you're really not supposed to move your donation arm at all except to make squeezing fist motions during the actual donation/rehydration process], and the next thing I know, I am projectile vomiting across the room, all over myself. The nurses are now running to me, throwing my legs up in the air with little headrest things, armrest things, *deep gasp* under my legs, high up as they can get me, and I am short, y'all! I ain't got legs! *wheezing laughter* I don't! I ain't got legs! They dead little legs! Um,

*giggles* Anyways! So, yeah, it was scary! They, they were puttin' ice chests- ice packs on my chest, and they got me to come back around, but it was enough for me to say enough. *deep breath* At some point in time, you have to put your health over the bottom dollar!

Now that was how we were feeding ourselves for awhile! That was back before we qualified for food stamps before the pandemic hit! *deep breath* Because back then, food stamps were a lot harder to get on! [a/n: if you have a tugboat, you automatically or very likely qualify for food stamps, just like you are with medicaid. This was also true pre-pandemic] Still hard to get on, but back then was impossible [uh... no? And even if it was, then that makes your receipts all the more anger inducing that you squander your "impossible to get on food stamps" on all that Mello Yello and Jimmy Dean]

So yes, we have come a little bit of ways, but people are having to depend on this, and it is literally killing their health! So please take that into consideration before you ever do this [and not how plasma donations are supposed to not be super constant, or how it gets used in treatments for hemophilia patients etc]! Love, y'all!

This is one of those moments where I'd feel more sympathy if it wasn't for Polissa being the storyteller. I recently had to donate plasma myself (thanks medical leave fuckery), and ended up with a day deferral because of low pressure towards the end of my donation due to having a very very long delay between eating/drinking and donating. I'm talking five hours before I finally got the needle in my arm.

That being said, I do have a funny tale to go with this. During my initial screening my blood pressure was a wee bit too low, like just under acceptable. They gave me fifteen minutes waiting period before they'd recheck. I read some of Polly's twitter, particularly her animal death history, to kill time. Fifteen minutes later, my blood pressure was well into acceptable levels and I could continue with my screening. So thanks for the money, Polissa! You're good for somethin' for once!

So I disagree with the small town vet thing. Most of them make tons, especially in farming communities.

Small towns right now are having huge vet shortages. There's not enough to go around and a fuck ton of covid pets. Many small town vets are even asking for addresses and refusing to service people outside their area.

They can charge less because they have a non stop flood of patients, to the point where they're turning people away. I know one of my vets does 7 days a week, is always on call and hasn't been able to accept new pets in 3 years.

31 grams of net carbohydrate x 2.5 servings = 77.5 grams of carbohydrate. That's a skosh over breakfast for Josh, the diabetic whose "consistent carbohydrate " diet is 75 grams a meal.

Even if that diet plan were truly what the doctor ordered, it's not great to eat all your carbs as simple sugars. There's no protein in that "meal" at all, no fiber and barely any carbohydrate that isn't sugar.

Even a normal person would feel their blood glucose spike hard after eating a fistful of candy., but a normal person could mobilize their metabolism to bring it back down again. Josh is going to go high and plateau--cranky, nauseated, difficulty thinking, headache, thirst, vision blurring--for hours while he struggles to chemically digest the chocolate-covered cherries. Meanwhile his stomach is empty almost immediately, because that's a lot of sugar in a small space.

I dunno, man. I wonder if Josh even remembers what it feels like to be euglycemic. Forget the microcirculation of your eyes, kidneys and penis; those are all off in the future and the future's for nerds. Not feeling like absolute shit all the time is a pretty good incentive to manage your diabetes day-to-day.

Nice to see her tactic of trying to guilt people into looking past the fact that no, she is not a good person, because they got their info from a scary website for bullies.

It takes a special kind of darkness to clutch onto something that can't defend itself while you're slowly killing them. Bella mauled at least three animals before Polly decided to euthanize her (for the wrong reason). Gomez has been ill for months without vet care while she dumped money into everything but. Her house has fallen into disrepair around her, probably beginning with small, easily fixable leaks while she holds a hoard of animals inside it. Piss off, Pissa, no one's fooled.

Polissa currently owns 11 cats. This is a record low for her (her record high: 20 cats). She lost one (Leviathan, or Levi) in January this year.



Current living cats: Luna, Pepi, Wednesday, Pugsly, Morticia, Gomez, Fester, Shadow, Sabrina, Matilda, and Penelope.


Luna and Leviathan had 3 litters together, since she couldn't be fucked to get any of them fixed. Polissa kept two of these three, netting her 5 extra cats. Wednesday and Pugsly from litter number 1, and Gomez, Morticia and Fester from litter number 2.



As of February 5th, 3 of her female cats still have not been spayed.


Litter number three (see animal suffering timeline) was hopefully rehomed.

Pepi (or Pepe, or Pepe LePew) and Matilda were strays. Penelope was "dumped on" her when she was sick, passing "a virus" on to the other cats.


Shadow, the incontinent cat, was "given to [her] to be saved by [her] neighbor.


Sabrina was also apparently "dumped on" her.


Gomez has recurring UTIs - what this means, exactly, is uncertain. He could have bladder stones, crystals, or infections. In any case, he should be on a special diet, prescribed by his vet, to avoid problems. A blocked urethra is very deadly, very quickly. He is currently hospitalized.
Polissa, of course, has no problem just sticking him in a diaper and hoping for the best.
