Maybe even the X-MEN movies too cause it has a school, & everyone in the series is technically a mutant.

anyone been watching akiba maid war? now that was a real sleeper hit. think its only one or two episodes left.

Rank for best maid

Idk, I feel like Ranko is probably best girl more than best maid, because Nagomi is the one having the most passionate Moe moe kyun I've seen in entire anime career. Probably spoiler depends on how many far are you in, this is ep 7.

That said, I should also get into the new Gundam since it's apparently pretty good too.
Well, I can't really say new Gundam is good, it's definitely not horrible either so far. Mostly producer wants to approach modern teens audience (ANN),

It's probably more approachable with new comers or average weebs need highschool waifu and yuri, not so much for old timer Gundam fans.

But it's popular enough to spawn meme fanarts on internet. If you still wanna give it a go, I recommend try to watch the prologue first before starting the show, since the prologue gives characterization and goal for some characters and most importantly the mystery behind main character "real identity", Sulleta Mercury, and her Gundam Aerial.

Small fact: Gundam Aerial, Sulleta and her mom Prospera are based on characters of Shakespear's The Tempest.

Still, the definitely curse thing about Gundam Witch Mercury is Sulleta singing/wishing "Happy Birthday" to any Gundam pilots, because they all die.
Also both G-Witch Mercury and Akiba Maid War happens to have wishing "Happy Birthday" to dead side character in the same week. G-Witch episode 4 and Akiba Maid War episode 5.

Now I can't see "Happy Birthday" normally anymore.

The only people who like it are contrarians, yurifags, and Redditors. It's neither bad or good, it's just incredibly bland. If it didn't have the Gundam name on it, nobody would've watched it except for yurifags because it's forgettable as hell.

It just sounds incredibly pretentious when the writer puts it like that, and also very ironic since social media and livestreams puts anyone with the internet closer to war than anytime in their history (obviously it was written and produced years before the Ukraine War, but still). The end result is a generic "battle academy" type show popular like 10-15 years ago (i.e. Star Driver, a forgettable mecha show this show is worse version of) that instead of interjecting the necessary comedy or character moments has endless discussions between corporate bosses who seem to play little relevance to the lives of the main characters. Oh yeah, and the plot develops at molasses pace.

Did they actually hit the target audience, or is the only reason this show got attention is because otaku finally got their female Gundam protag with some yuri to boot?

Reminds me of Lycoris Recoil. I shudder everytime I hear that name because of the insane amount of yurifaggots that flock everytime that anime is mentioned. Reminds me of a signature I saw when browsing TVTropes:

Too bad MHA won't even have Sky High's corniness to make it even worth a watch.

I love how the opinion on Bocchi shifted from "another mediocre, forgettable Kirara anime" to 10/10 soyjaking. I love it. They selected a source material that's already very well-researched for a CGDCT and made it a genuinely creative work of art. It's not going to beat CSM at the gaijin awards, because normies, but I don't want it to. I don't want a million white retards harassing the author on Twitter going YOU GOTTA MAKE BOCCHI AND NIJIKA GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY REPRESENTATION.

And trannies, and people whose lives are sad enough that they derive all their happiness from fictional media "affirming" their beliefs so that they can imagine themselves defeating their political enemies.

The new Gundam is bad. It takes interesting concepts and plot threads and does nothing with them in favor of a bad knockoff Utena where 20 people are fighting over a stuttering autistic retard who can barely function in life through mech battles that have no rules and make no sense.
It's good and the Space Maids arc was a high point but I think it needed to do more unique things with the Yakuza Maids settings.
I agree. I don't think it's a particularly good parody of yakuza films. The setting is absurd, the juxtaposition is absurd, but in the end the characters act exactly the same way they would in every yakuza film, and there's even arcs and episodes that you're clearly supposed to find seriously emotional. "Absurd world that everyone takes seriously" can make for good comedy at times, but it's a premise that burns itself out real quickly once you realize that every episode is a yakuza movie cliche juxtaposed into Akiba, and this doesn't make for actual, meaningful commentary on the genre.
So what ate you guys picking up next season?
Probably gonna be
NieR
Tomo-chan
Niggertoro
Ayakashi Triangle (even if the troons might latch on to it)
There are some adaptation news that genuinely baffle me. A lot are adaptations of stuff that I may not personally like but sells well, or attempts to boost a flagging series' sales, or stuff that was popular a decade or two ago. But every now and then, you get news about an adaptation of something that ended recently and fell into obscurity that makes you go "huh, wait, what?" Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko is one of the above. It's been over for 3 years and was never that popular when it was still publishing.

Also, LycoReco is good and the girls aren't gay, they're friends. Trannies can fuck right off.

Well, if the latest episode is of any consideration, the redditors and /a/ faggots have already latched into the yurishit part. So too late on that one.
