"They're Called Breasts, Barbera Ann, and every woman's got 'em."

I think he's selectively self critical because he's permitted to. If he got desperate enough, he'd start introspecting a lot more.

Like, I've observed Chris consider the possibility that he's unattractive once. Only once. He's tried pretty much everything he can think of to get a girlfriend. So he finally came around to consider the possibility that he might be ugly. Of course, he had an asspatter on hand to tell him that, not only is he not ugly, but rather that he's actually super beautiful, the most beautiful person the asspatter has ever seen!

Welp, that nipped that in the bud!

Was that Anna?

And on the topic of critiquing himself, you said once that he struggled to make sense within his world view the macing video, because it incontrovertibly shows his attack was unprovoked and that he was in fact the bad person. Has he arrived to a conclusion regarding it yet?

Yes.

Oh yeah. That really fucked with him. I mean, not too much, because he's got a warm bed to home to, so he can try not to think about it too much. His life wasn't very disrupted by the revelation. But emotionally, he realized that he was a giant asshole pepper spraying some random dude who was standing there.

I think the resolution he's settled on is that he was artificially put into a highly stressful situation. Sega is his primary culprit. Sega put him in the situation where he was a scared wild animal in the woods, just lashing out at anything. If Chris drew that situation (and had any kind of artistic talent), he'd probably draw himself as being doe eyed.

He'll kinda denigrate the Game Stop guy himself once in awhile, but I really don't think he believes that.

I could believe that.

That sounds a lot like his "trolls cause me stress" excuse for things. He doesn't disinguish between other people very carefully, so he tends to keep score against the world as a whole. If Person A does something to him that he views as unprovoked, and then he does something to Person B, he doesn't see it as an unprovoked action on Person B, he sees it as an action provoked by Person A. If Person B is pissed off, they should take it to Person A, they were the one who started the whole thing.

It's an instinct a lot of us have in our darker sides. We have a bad day, and we might take it out on someone unrelated. But most people think it through, realized that is a shitty thing to do, try to avoid doing it, and apologize when it happens. Chris assumes his gut instinct must be right and backfills the logic to justify his actions.

Your comment does bring up a quesiton. Immediately after the incident he had a few more blarms rants, but then it seemed to die away. Was any part of that him realizing that the whole blarms thing had led him down a dark path and he was better off avoiding it?

I think during the GameStop rants (can we call it his blue period?) Chris had a legit psychotic break. My guess is that he's more medicated now than he was then. I think that without medication, Chris really is an uncontrollable danger to himself.

But he won't even let barb bully him out of tomgirl.
Isn't Barb less of an opponent (at least in Chris' eyes)? I mean, he yelled at Barb after "the worst weekend of his life," but he wouldn't raise the voice to the pickleman when he stole his girlfriend (that'd be hilarious, though).

I'm just asking because I don't know (other than the anecdotes in the CWCki) about how big of a deterrent Barb can be.

Barb can get Chris to do virtually everything by screaming and getting quasi-violent with him. (Or she could, back when she was less frail.) She couldn't get him to quit the tomgirl shit though.

Im surprised he didnt learn he could push her around after that. I wonder if she threatened suicide during that debacle. If she didnt then she didnt give enough of a shit about it

Chris is such a spineless pussy, he'll back down if challenged on almost any of his beliefs... But he won't even let barb bully him out of tomgirl. That should tell you something about his sincerity.

Ah, but what if a cute boyfriend free girl were to want to date him but her only prerequisite condition for being his girlfriend was to give up the tomgirl lifestyle? She could put up with everything else, the laziness, the toy hoarding, the constant gaming, but that one thing he would have to let go.

Do you think his conviction might change if that scenario were a reality?

No.

His conviction really won't change.

Now, he might nominally pretend to be a man. But at the same time constantly try to shoehorn his lesbian fetish into every corner of the relationship. And then after a bit, he'd just drop all pretenses of being a man. He'd probably start calling his partner a lesbian explicitly too.

I elaborated on this in another post, about the question of if it is possible to browbeat Chris into badmouthing Sonichu. My answer was yes, but not sincerely, and Chris would perpetually try to hamfistedly undermine you.

Chris is about as subtle as :briefs:.

This. You can see from how obsessed he is with the idea of having 'd cup' breasts that the tomgirl identity runs deep. Along with the subliminal hypnosis videos, he desperately wants his body to be physically feminine. I imagine even Chris knows that's not something he can just u-turn on for a sweetheart.
