I would not be surprised in the next few days Mauler makes a tweet saying that he is going to take a few weeks break for the holidays with hopes that everything will blow over in a few weeks. The backlash seems to mostly be contained to /v/ and here. Didn't see a lot of comments on the efap disagreeing with him or any other YouTubers calling him out that I'm aware of. I think it would take mauler getting into a fight with FNT for him to start loosing serious credibility, the SM stream will probably turn off a lot of the older efap fans and not so much the new ones

He also just got really butthurt when Synth stated that Mauler isn't a good reviewer and that his friends are degenerates.

I honestly can't understand why Mauler has such a hard on for GOWR. I would maybe understand if we were talking about 2018, that was at least interesting and Kratos hadn't become a full soydad but GOWR is....inferior to the previous one. If you are going to use Mauler's "objective standards" you CAN'T overlook the handholding, you just can't. EVERYTHING is so direct all the time. The dialogue, the NPC hints. It's not that everything has to be subtextual, Revengeance is the king of saying fuck subtext, but at least be imaginative and let players play the fucking game. Don't even go and say "there are open areas" as if open areas automatically mean game. Lot's of corridor games are better at whatever GOWR is trying to do, SH2 is a superior story game in all regards except maybe voice acting.

When I heard the "Atreus breeds the black out of the giants plan" bit I couldn't stop laughing for a solid minute, its so hard for me imagining people literally trembling in their boots like those redditors.

Funny story, according to the GOWR devs, they based the games need to excessively hand hold the player based on DSP's playthrough of the 2018 GOW.
