8. the first Disney CEO since Michael Eisner/Gary Katzenberg that aint a kike.
I just assumed she was jewish. Knowing she isnt moves my prediction she gets it from "less likely than not" to "no way in hell".

The person you promote to ceo is you communicating what the companies focus is. Chapek was a operations guy known for penny pinching and was ymbolic of a return to discipline. He completely failed at why he was hired. He penny pinched and raised prices in the space he was most familar with but let media and technology get bloated. Which meant his backers werent getting a return.

Iger wont make any problems go away. But he can get the media to stop talking about them and the lower ranks at disney will start cracking down on criticism they let flourish under chapek.

Making a cfo ceo is a signal by the board that the companies books are a priority. Getting the dent down and the balance sheets up. A cto promotion wpuld make sense if disney was signaling going further in on disney+. A chief operations officer is a more neutral promotion.

It was called wildlife, from what I can gather it was about a singing elephant working in a nightclub in the 70s.
There's a few concept sketches online but iirc this is the only known test footage out there.
70s nostalgia was big at the time and Disney capitalized on it by using 70s songs in their TV advertisements for movies (I STILL associate The Boys Are Back in Town with Toy Story) so a Disney movie set during the 70s isn't too hard to imagine, but a gay joke is, wonder what Roy E Disney would think of Strange World?

We just need someone that needs to pick off where Walt left us just like Eisner did... Oh wait.

still a really great version of A Christmas Carol and a bunch of Disney characters

it's sort of interesting that compared to so many other versions of the story it dumps kid scrooge in favor of Fezziwig's
I usually watch this one on Christmas morning because it's so short. Very charming, especially with the introduction of Alan Young as Scrooge (RIP).

Him, his father Roy, and his uncle Walt are spinning in their graves so fast, they'd be able to power the city of Los Angeles.
Huh I just realized I missed old man Walt's birth and death days. One minute the old man was looking back on living through two world wars, having a few kids, planing a second theme park that would also be a city that he'd rule over like an emperor on a throne. The next he was collapsing on the floor calling out to a then teenage Kurt Russell. My take has always been Walt was trying to make sure Kurt didn't suffer the same fate as poor Bobby Driscoll before him. A beloved child start that got thrown out with the rest of the lost boys who got too old.

A fitting analogy for life and all its trappings don't you think? One minute you're a bouncing baby on swaddling clothes and diapers the next your clutching at your chest and taking your last gasps of air. Clinging to what little sand you have left k in the hourglass.

I saw a leak of the first episode of Pixar's new "Win or Lose" series, and surprise surprise, the plot is about one of the kids on the team being a troon and trying to feel comfortable using the girl's bathroom despite puberty causing his voice to deepen. A very relatable struggle for kids aged 6-11.

Why are modern writers too mentally stunted to think of any message that goes beyond sexuality or gender identity?

OK, the content itself is reprehensible enough (and pretty telling, seeing the little girl's reaction to the troon's masculine voice), but the fucking beanmouth style actually sends up a well of indescribable rage inside of me. I was praying that Luca and Turning Red were flukes, but no. It turns out "beanmouth" is the new style over at Pixar. Fuck.

I blame big mouth. It was a show about sex, sexuality and puberty that got 100 percent fresh rating on rotten tomatoes (yes the show with a talking angry piece of literal shit, and a vagina with eyes on it got a fresh rating) now everybody wants their own big mouth.

Blame the so called devotion to "diversity hiring " which basically translates to whatever Berkley dropouts the hr department can find off an art hosting site. Ironically even a dropout from the actual calarts school would have more than the easy to draw and manipulate beamouth style. The name is kinda misnomer.

These kinds of animators look at children as commodities and not as children. This kind of entertainment is just propaganda and not storytelling. The worst part about this is that it will never teach anything about sportsmanship or actually learning how to win a game.

I might sound like a total boomer saying this but they do have a point. The saying "Its not how you win or lose its how you play the game. " coupled with the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality is partly why things are so screwed up now.

And this dreck will only exacerbate the problem.

...can't say I'm interested in the baseball thing anymore. The idea of a whole series showing the different POV's on the run-up to a single game was really interesting, but I wanted something actually relating to baseball. This seems like anything but.
Watch Ace of Diamond to get your baseball fix. Or for Western cartoons, just watch a Peanuts baseball compilation.

Anything's better than modern Pixar.
