𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I fucking loathe how opaque the entire banning process is. Banned for how long? For what? It's ripe for abuse and no surprise it has been already abused by the troon squad at Twatter HQ prior.
Why do people act like they're entitled to this information when it doesn't involve them? If you're suspended from Twitter, they tell you how long you'll be suspended. If you're perma'd, they tell you so. They usually also tell you why you're being sanctioned, including the post you're being sanctioned for. On the rare occasion they don't, it's because you've been a cunt long enough that they're sick of your shit or you've offended the wrong person and you already know it.

Who else has any business knowing the details if the two parties involved don't want to share them? It's not a courtroom, or a legal system of any kind. There's no reason for it to be open besides people wanting to "rules lawyer" over ever decision endlessly or gossip about it (which they'll do anyway).

I don't know, this seems like it could be related to Trump.

>"Elon, I'll come back if I can advertise Truth, it'll be yuge."
>"No."
>"Well, I'm going to do it anyway, it's going to be yuge."
>"Guys, we need to make a rule so Trump can't advertise Truth."
>"If we do that it'll look like we're singling out Trump."
>"Good point, let's ban other sites too."

Regardless, it's a fucking stupid rule to make. Terrible optics.

It’s probably best to view all this kind of stuff as performance art - banning this journalist for no reason, unsuspending that far-right rabble rouser, pretending to care about making a profit, pretending to “improve” Twitter, making up arbitrary new rules about what you can and can’t say, walking them back again.
It keeps people guessing. Actually he’s doing something very simple, which is tearing down Twitter on behalf of Thiel / the Russkies / the Saudis (take your pick).
Yeah he’s having fun playing head jannie and taking petty revenge on anyone who’s been a thorn in his side regarding reporting on his dodgy business practices through the years, but that too is a side show.

But the “you can’t keep tabs on oligarchs any more” commandments are the closest to the real motive we’ve seen so far, presumably the backers are tiring of the games and the slow progress.

Elon crafting policy on the fly, puts up a poll asking if he should step down, and for some reason the Quartering is involved.

Looks like we can thank Jeremy for the soon to be relaxed rules on "advertising" alternate platforms.

Meh, Jeremy does make a good point as to why I was opposed to this rule in the first place. So good on him making a successful negotiation at least.

I think people are overreacting. Every old Web 1.0 forum had a no self-promotion, advertising, or spam rule, and this sounds like that. It’s not a ban on all cross-posting or linking to other sites.
