dont look for this kind of info thru google or whatever, especially news sites, just take a look at the (in the case of us listed companies) SEC filing: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1318605/000095017022019867/tsla-20220930.htmOver a quarter of the money used to buy twitter was effectively loans from banks and investments. On one hand, yes, its wacky to think someone could spend all that money to not totally own something, but notably- not all the money he bought twitter with was his.

This is where some conflicting information pops up. Most places seem to say that there is roughly 69-89 million shares of Tesla stock, yet others claim well up to 3.46 BILLION shares. However, Blackrock is said here to own 171 million shares, hence meaning I may well have to completely redo the math for who owns how much- nullifying my previously thought 'well informed' post. However, in the same article regarding blackrock also mentions Vanguard group owning a massive hunk of it also.
you can find it normally in their investor relations page: https://ir.tesla.com/#quarterly-disclosure
>As of October 18, 2022, there were 3,157,752,449 shares of the registrant’s common stock outstanding.
They had a 3-1 split earlier this year so the amount of shares tripled, still no clue where the 69-89 million number is coming from unless they did some insane stock splits back to back.
