Musk jumped the gun and had the wording wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to aggressive and over-reaching. If it was a update to the spamming policy that focused on bots that ONLY do off site linking it would have been fine. Linking to stuff by people during the course of normal tweeting then would have been fine and no one would have done anything.

This is not a new fiasco, these types of streams have existed for a while now (definitely around a year I'd say) with ventures that Elon was linked with. In the past, it was more so around SpaceX stating that there was some new announcement when a bunch of Musk fans were desperate for more information about Starship. It's basically a bitcoin scam with the same video played over and over again.

Dispense thy rainbows, but I doubt this ends with the most dreaded outcome: Elon fucks off and allows Twatter to get re-infested with its old executives and workforce (or a new workforce similarly aligned with the old), basically getting us back to square one before this debacle even started. At that point, they’d probably feel more emboldened, and would censor harder.

I just find it unlikely that he’d drop tens of billions, largely prompted by the full-tyrant behaviors of Gadde et al, only to declare defeat and let them win after such a short time. Spite is a very powerful thing- after all, it’s what keeps Null motivated to make sure this site survives amidst the troon bullshit. I’d be similarly motivated if I were Musk, but he’s still a billionaire autist, so who knows?

The most recent “Twitter Files” release, handled by independent journalist Matt Taibbi, revealed the extent to which the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) routinely asked Twitter to take censorship actions against certain Twitter accounts, mostly citing concerns of election-related misinformation.

In the latest revelations, Taibbi suggested that the contact between Twitter and the FBI was so regular that it seemed as if Twitter had become a “subsidiary” of the government law enforcement agency.

Because of the nature of the revelations, which presumably were never meant for public consumption, conservative commentator and musician John Rich rhetorically asked how long it would take for the FBI to raid new Twitter owner Elon Musk’s home, which seemed to be a shot at the agency for the recent Mar-a-Lago raid.

“How long before the FBI raids @elonmusk’s home?” Rich tweeted Friday.
