The porn thing is also weird because who determines what is and isn't porn?

I'm sure we all agree that two adults doing it is porn. What about drawn art? What about nude statues? Would you ban tasteful nudity? What about furry porn? I've seen enough bizarre tings in Animal Control and there wasn't a tit or dick to be seen. Would that be considered porn?

Raging Golden Eagle is a coomer and all, but he's right. The reason why people stopped listening to the Right is because of their porn crusade and cracking down on fun things. It's why entire generations don't go full based, because the Right isn't any better than the Left on this issue.

The Religious Right is where most of the Progressives would be if it still had any power and let them act like assholes toward everyone else.

They always had the Next Crisis going on. Be it Heavy Metal (I know the Dems are the ones that pulled them in front of Congress, but that was about power), D&D, belly shirts, movies, or having fun.

If they got a victory, they'd immediately set their sights on the next big fight.

Like the Progressives, they didn't think what would happen when they started losing or how other people would start reacting.

There was always the next thing to call for a boycott of, the next thing to write to the FCC about, the next thing to yell about on their cable TV show.

Like the Progs, it was all a big grift.

"If I don't get 1 million dollars in donations, God will call me home!"
"If I don't get my titty skittles, I'll kill myself!"

Same shit, different costume.

Infact many key players are apart of the progressives now.

The Religious Right of the late 20th century seems to of been equal to modern "Progressives" in the way they act in terms of their zealotry. The difference is that the typical rank-and-file of the former resisted change and the latter advocate for change. Sure the fundamentalists of the eighties were overreaching at times in what they put in their sights to take action against, but how many things did they say would it be bad if it was allowed to proliferate prove to be a correct prediction as of today? Besides that look how they are treated now to act as a reminder of what it is like to lose in politics.

As for the whole discussion about a potential pornography ban, it is evident some here have different views on how that should be handled if be implemented at all. I say lets all agree to disagree on the matter and at least admit that at current time unless anything drastically changes no such thing will realistically come about in the United States in the foreseeable future.

Well if anyone cares about the stuff in that big fat bill.

Some congressman covered it in a long twitter thread.

I wonder what the geographic context of the "Ukrainian Independence Park" is? While it does sound absurd I wonder how close it is in relation to the National Mall.

I don't want it in my search history, so I must ask: what the heck is zentai?

Originated in Japan, but came over to the US and gay fetish scene in the late 90s/early 00s via the internet. But didn't really take off in the US with normies until the mid-00s when Charlie Day famously wore a green zentai suit on "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", which in turn led to the famous "Vancouver Green Men" super fans in hockey.

Zentai also goes by several different names: Superfan Suits and Morph Suits, the later being a UK company that slapped said name on the rear region of the suit.

Hamadeh's case was much more based on "the system in place fucked royally" without being politically motivated like Lake's, and also got past dismissal.
Starting to wonder if Sinema’s recent switch from (D) to (I) is in any way related to these happenings. Perhaps there are some things that she’s been hearing behind closed doors that we don’t know about.

Anyone else think it's poetry that the thread about American Politics has devolved into talking semantics in the porn industry that has lasted several pages?

Maybe one day, you lot would prohibit money bills from being tabled if they exceed a certain length. But then it wouldn't be so easy to shove pork in so it'd never happen.
I don't understand why these pork filled bills are thousands of pages long. Is it so the common person gives up trying to read it so they don't know what their politicians are doing?

If you're trying to get a bill passed, you must read it from top to bottom. How can somebody write so much and expect it to be voted on in a timely manner?

"You have to pass it to know what's in it."

They don't read shit.

They have staffers read shit. They MIGHT get a precis on their desk, that they usually don't read.

Most only read highlights, or just doublecheck their grift and pork got funded.
