I pine for the 90's now. We've been stuck in 80's nostalgia for the last twenty years. Something about that decade seems like magic compared to current year. Counterpoint being that in the USSR just like in the US, not voting is just as much assent as voting, for differing reasons though obviously. In the case of the US, either your vote gets cast "for you" as we've seen in the past two elections, or prior to that the machine would and still does just make non-political excuses at best or worst politically slanted on both controlled op media outlets for why people didn't turn out.

If you seriously want to "stick it to the man" wrt voting, voting third-party or putting in protest votes (Harambe votes in 2016 for example) are much more effective at that message. If 60M people in the US voted for "bugs bunny esq" for president, it'd hit a lot different than 60M people not voting. TLDR; don't vote and your vote just becomes mad libs for media whores.

I don't know what Trump's plan with this run is. Is he dumber than I thought and believes he'll be given an honest chance to win(brain damage levels of hopium)? Are there lawfare plans he's expecting to wage against election practices when it's too close for the Democrats to change their methods(almost as much hopium as getting a fair election)? It's he planning on gathering a huge war chest to negotiate with to drop out(The Sanders Shuffle) and doesn't plan on taking this to the ballot?

I see 2 angles.

One is that this is a suicide charge, I don't believe he is blind to what has happened to him and his candidates. I doubt he'll just step down, if we know one thing is Trump holds a grudge, he is seething for blood. But he can't be blind that he has 0 options at the moment. So just do it as his last hurrah and hope something happens or smash into the wall with as much dignity as he can muster.

He has been talking with powerful people willing to give him the time of day in multiple sectors. This has the risk of being betrayed again, but he NEEDS the usual suspects to not just do immediate interference against him. Maybe businesses that are sick of worrying about the ESG score and want to make fucking money again, maybe generals which have tight loyalties, maybe judges that are tired of playing ball...

Option 1 would just be sad and the final nail to any political solution for the blight of America. This scenario is even worse if Desantis wins since him winning will release a lot of the tension about the electoral system and they can dump the recession that now is very real, very bad and very republican on his lap. The frog keeps getting boiled and balkanization becomes the good ending.
