You wanna know what is easily one of the most eye-rolling controversies when it comes to discussing fiction? The freakout whenever vampires have backstories that involve them being confederates at some point in history.
Nevermind the fact that these stories usually showcase vampires raping, killing and doing a bunch of other ethically questionable stuff. But wait, there's a flashback and the character is wearing a confederate uniform? Oh, no. NOW he is evil. It's a incredibly arbitrary and moralistic line to have when vampire fiction is usually known be morally messed up (it's almost as if it's an inherent part of the premise or something).
And of course there's a new video from a pseudo-intellectual creator talking about it, courtesy of Princess Weekes.
Now, from what I've seen of this person's other content and the video's comment section, it seems to be basically 45 minutes about how much Twilight/True Blood/The Vampire Diaries and its writers are all racist and evil. I don't hate myself enough to sit through that.
