How you can tell the Rekieta family is on this higher end of prosperity is the fact that they straight up bought Nick and his new wife their own house. I cant say I saw all of this coming, but I am not surprised. I first subscribed and watched Nick when he had maybe 7k subs during the original lolsuit arc as at that time I was a Dick Show enjoyer, but I would only watch Nick sporadically. Even with that there were hints.

His casual relationship to Christianity while loudly proclaiming his pride in his faith. His shooting the shit streams with Drexel which would often stray to degenerate topics. His college hipster obsession with alcohol. His showcasing of his wife on stream and talking about how she was a "smoke show." His dismissiveness and contempt torwards his kids. On their own, none were any sort of real problem, but together they did make me start to wonder.

Now with these more recent evidences and his non-sensical reactions to criticisms, the real Nick is showing.

Some think that he has recently changed, but I am more inclined to believe like others that this is true self is revealed.

I had reccomended him to various friends and relatives as an enjoyable lawtuber who could break down live legal proceedings. I only really had to tell them that he would swear during his shows as a mild warning.

Not long ago, I had one of these friends reach out to me about what was going on with his rants on prudes and incels. I embarrassingly had to explain what was going on and rescind my reccomendation. Nick has made me look like an asshole now. Thanks Nick.

Nick always reminded me of a youth pastor type. They'll swear, they'll talk about sex or how great their (monogamous) relationship is, they might even make degenerate jokes or drink every now and then, but at the end of the day they're still devout Christians preaching Biblical values and all their vulgarity and sex talk is there for a point (even if only to get people listening). Now of course, Nick's show was never a ministry, but he'd have guests like Doug TenNapel, routinely praised Vic Mignogna for his faith, and often would go on rants about his strong pro-life stance, the importance of marriage, or other Christian topics.

If Nick was always this big of a hedonist, then he did a great job masking it under layers of irony and the impression that he was firmly in control over his own life.

You could see a narrative where he graduates college with a useless degree, comes out with a boat anchor girlfriend and gets trapped in a series of dead-end jobs. Then something worse happens - the girlfriend gets pregnant and the in-laws get together for a "come to jesus" moment about how he is going to support a family. And especially a family where the wife isn't interested in working.
They come up with a solution where he will go to law school. But while he goes to law school, he has to live with them under their thumb in their house with them paying the bills. That would be literal hell for most people. That might be what he is really complaining about when he alludes to his bad years.
It also might explain the post-law school move to Spicer. There isn't much to recommend Spicer except that its far away from everything and its a place where nosy parents would find it difficult to see.

The other observation from his career is that he has an attention span for anything of about 3-4 years. 4 in college. 4 years in the workforce. 4 years in law school. 3-4 years working seriously in the law. 4 years talking about the law on youtube.

I doubt Vic wanted to do much of anything in the way of publicity during the case. I also agree that the idea of a secret enmity is silly.
