Given how Kayla conducts herself, it would be surprising if it was her (or her side of the family) holding Nick back in terms of hedonistic expression unless Nick and Kayla are also financially beholden to them. If they have higher moral standards can't control their own daughter, it is doubtful they could do anything about Nick. If anything, Kayla seems to be one of the largest contributors to Nick's downfall (with the exception of Nick himself of course) with her active participation in the most damning conduct. Keep in mind, Kayla is the one orchestrating Nick's involvement in the underwear/glow parties. Nick is following her lead in these respects.

As a side note, the reason why financial connections seem so relevant is because Nick seemed to become exponentially unstable when he gained the means to become more financially independent. Interestingly enough, its not as though Nick wasn't living well enough before this year. The money may not have been his personally, but he was certainly reaping the benefits of someone's wealth.

I still maintain sleep deprivation psychosis. There is a reason sleep deprivation is used as a torture technique to alter people. The man has in essence tortured himself. He's combined lack of sleep with alcohol. Its a dangerous combination as both can lead to psychoactive symptoms. Especially if taken to extremes. And Rackets is clearly taking it to extremes. His daytime streams are stark. The man looks washed out and most of the time barely aware of where he is. He only becomes animated late at night once the Alcohol starts to hit and the inhibitions melt away. I am also concerned with the hints he is also resorting to the use of Pervitin (Amphetamine) and its current modern day iterations to stay awake for his streams. To someone like Nick who wants to seem in control of his own mind, resorting to these drugs is increadibly tempting. They make you hyper focused and ward off exhaustion. Jordan Peterson went down the exact same road. The problem is this road leads to psychological collapse. The mind is willing and the body is not. Worse, whatever psychological issues remain under the surface can manifest full force. There is also no safe way to STOP Amphetamine abuse. But the reason it's happening is that Nick is oversharing information about parts of his life for attention on the Internet. Like is usual with these types of people, he shares only the pieces of information that he thinks will give the positive affirmation he wants while censoring the parts he knows will generate negative attention: "I won the fetish costume night!" without saying it's a swingers' resort, "We went to an underwear party!" without saying it's a gay bar, etc. He also keeps most of this discussion to venues he views as positive to him (Locals) without realizing that this info will eventually spread back out.

But people are going to speculate and come up with hypotheses that fit the partial information that Nick has put out. When a hypothesis is sufficiently outlandish or a leap given available evidence, sure, it's "fanfic". I don't necessarily agree that, say, Nick using sex toys proves he 100% has ED, and I definitely don't agree that a single photo of Nick's dad is proof of anything, but people are obviously noticing that he has totally gone off the rails in the last few months and are going to speculate about what the hell is going on.

I think he got it for the narcolepsy but yes it has uses for ADHD. I don't know any more about the drug than what Wikipedia and Nick himself have said.
