None of the HIMARS or stingers or javelins that were sent to Ukraine were made in China, we make all of our own defense gear including high end chips, although we do also source from Taiwan (NOT mainland China) for those. You know nothing about the US military industrial sector.

If you think HIMARS and MANPADS are the only things that make up our military then you know nothing. US military doctrine doesn't emphasize surface-to-air systems. And yes, our low stocks can't be easily replaced.

All production for US domestic use is domestic. There is licensing to foreign manufacture for some systems/parts/etc, but that is for foreign clients. Sometimes to fill in a gap there is foreign backfill, but the contractor has to explain why this temporary what steps are being taken to ensure it never happens again.

The US has the capabilities to produce the chips we source from Taiwan, but not in quantities Taiwan can make them - but not for too much longer

Where the heck are you getting those numbers? My own calculation place it at 14th or 15th, regardless, there's a MULTITUDE of factors that don't paint a rosy look for the US manufacturing.

I'm gonna be a fucking Wikipedia scholar and use strictly IMF estimates for world economies:
US economy ranks at #2, at 25T, behind China's 30T. Manufacturing accounts for a whopping 11% of the US economy, compared to China's 40%. Nigger that means that China's manufacturing output is nearly FIVE TIMES that of the US. And that is before you even take into account military PPP (Purchasing power parity), which some estimate China can get up to 200% more shit per dollar than the US, even at a conservative 50% advantage, that makes China manufacturing output 7.5 times that of the US.
Of course, I'm using Wikipedia numbers, if you have sources or numbers to dispute my claims, I am interested to know. Otherwise, not a good look for the US to be out-produced by the chinks 5 to 1.

Edit: I'm retarded, numbers I was using are not nominal GDP, but PPP adjusted GDP. So 5 to 1 is more correct. Even if you want to be conservative and say it's 2.5 to 1... still getting dabbed on by the gooks.

Counter argument. The Ukraine defense industry while potent has been corrupt for years and now Zelensky has the excuse and mandate he needs to clean house. Team Z has been harping on the various "totally authoritarian evil Zelensky moves" to round up various oligarchs and political figures. It could be a push by Zelensky to become dictator for life, but the more likely explanation is the central government in Kiev finally has enough political power to bring the various regional factions to heel.

Sort of - even without constant US data feed, HIMARS would be a game changer, you just wouldn't likely see as many dramatically hilarious soviet owns.

The fact HIMARS has incredible range and can shoot-and-scoot, and the core of Russia's strategy is artillery which renders it extremely vulnerable to HIMARS. Artillery is not very agile and requires a large supply of explosives, things that mobile system like HIMARS can capitalize on.
HIMARS moves into an area, and the HIMARS crew launches packs of cigarettes & matches into russian lines. After that its just a waiting game.

Ukraine has humint sources, counter battery detectors, and Russia hasn't been very good about camouflaging their shit. They'd still be having just as many "smoking accidents", but the US intel has allowed the HIMARS launchers to kept safe from Russian airstrikes and find especially juicy targets faster.

Its actually worse then that. Under US doctrine, Rocket Artillery is a Strategic Asset. Its not stated out loud, but HIMARS and its previous iteration MLRS are intended for one purpose. Delivery of short range nuclear weapons. As consequence the systems are incredibly potent and all their ammunition is designed with the specific intent of defeating Russian air defense. Its also why they are still few in number relative to other weapons platforms.

Thats probably going to change in the coming years though. I expect the US Army is going to massively expand its rocket artillery capacity. It simply cannot be ignored how fucking effective it is in the modern era.

Europe didn't willingly move over to (four times more expensive) gas from the USA, they were forced by the destruction of Nordstream by Britain and the US.

To clarify, I'm no "Greater Anything" loon, I'm fine with UN recognized borders, even for Israel wink-wink and Serbia. I despise invader states like Israel for example, they should be always bullied by international coalitions, because there is ALWAYS a bigger fish, and territorial disputes should be settled diplomatically, with international mediation.
As a modern example, I gave Serpent Island, which was disputed between Romania and Ukraine, which like the civilized modern states that they are, went through the international courts to find a peaceful solution.
