Of course.
Disney pretends to still show more love to The Owl House than the fans who pretend to actually still care about The Owl House.
IIRC, both of those movies didn't do as well as say Aladdin or Lion King at the box office, and I can kind of see why... like both of them have major problems with tone. Like comedic scenes right before Meg's death in Hercules or the Gargoyles taking part in the fight at Notre Dame right before Quasi thinks Esmerelda is dead and Frollo tries stabbing him as he tries to mourn. I don't think Hercules was well received in Greece, either; it doesn't help that I guess that film was meant for more of an American audience, and what I mean by that is them making Hades out to be a Satan-like figure when he never was in the original stories, since you'd be mainly marketing this film in a majority Christian country who never had something like the Greco-Roman canon's pantheon. My mom didn't seem to care for Hercules either, which is why we didn't have it on VHS and it took us years before we got it on DVD where she just gives it a shrug and nothing more. It being bastardized Greek mythology probably didn't appeal to her after she had taken a course on Greek mythology, and I can see that being a reason someone wouldn't have liked it even back then. It's picked up in popularity over the years due to its presentation (it's a very unique style for Disney and it's got that Las Vegas flair) and how hard the music slaps, and of course there's Danny DeVito and nowadays Hades has become a prima donna/gay icon through Tumblr. So it's getting its due years after its release.
Also in the same vein, my mom didn't get us Hunchback either because she thought through the previews that Disney got too immature about its humor (tbf the VHS trailers give off a different feel compared to the theatrical trailer which may have given mixed feelings and also showed off Hellfire and Esmeralda pole-dancing lol). Sometimes I wonder how I would've taken to the movie as a kid as it's my all-time personal favorite Disney movie as an adult, but who knows.
I honestly just find it interesting they didn't try to kill him off like they typically did with villain characters, but then again, Hades didn't really do anything despicable in comparison to someone like Frollo.it doesn't help that I guess that film was meant for more of an American audience, and what I mean by that is them making Hades out to be a Satan-like figure when he never was in the original stories
Desperately Pseeking Persephone - A Hercules StoryI honestly just find it interesting they didn't try to kill him off like they typically did with villain characters, but then again, Hades didn't really do anything despicable in comparison to someone like Frollo.
Might be my hopeless romantic side coming out, but I'm legit kinda curious how Disney would've done the Persephone story with James Wood's Hades. Like this is a real missed opportunity for a sequel, even if it'd be a direct-to-video sequel.
The only problem is that Disney would never go for such an idea these days, cuz James Woods is “toxic” now.I honestly just find it interesting they didn't try to kill him off like they typically did with villain characters, but then again, Hades didn't really do anything despicable in comparison to someone like Frollo.

Too bad because I think James Wood is way much less toxic than Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin and Dan "get in the van" Schneider. The only problem is that Disney would never go for such an idea these days, cuz James Woods is “toxic” now.
Road to El Dorado had a sorcerer-priest eager to do the bloody ritual sacrifices (and suspect hoping to be the one that gets to do them) but that is the closest I've seen in an animated film, but that wasn't Disney.Disney animating a wholesome Aztec decapitation ritual for diversity points when?
El Dorado is a fucking great movie. Very fucking weird, but great.Road to El Dorado had a sorcerer-priest eager to do the bloody ritual sacrifices (and suspect hoping to be the one that gets to do them) but that is the closest I've seen in an animated film, but that wasn't Disney.
Shame they didn't make a sequel. You have three happy people having cool adventures, and an evil sorcerer that got exiled and enslaved because of them. That's the setup for a juicy revenge plot right there.El Dorado is a fucking great movie. Very fucking weird, but great.
For the amount of money they make you pay; absolutely. But even though quality is downhill and you have to break the bank to go there, the parks are still extremely crowded. With a recession and the way people plan their trip to the parks years in advance Disney Parks won't look as "successful" in a few years.I've been watching this channel, Poseidon Entertainment. Seems to be full autismo for the Disney Parks but I have found it pretty interesting. Are Disney Parks really as shit now as those vids say?
To do that well they'd need to cast someone who can really play off of James Woods as Persephone. Who do you think could do that, assuming this would have come out closer to Hercules' release date than today?I honestly just find it interesting they didn't try to kill him off like they typically did with villain characters, but then again, Hades didn't really do anything despicable in comparison to someone like Frollo.

I haven't been hanging carefully on further developments but iirc there were no plans to take if off the virtual queue bullshit. If the general extends to the theme parks, do any of you know if the Rise of the Resistance ride at Disneyland/World still virtual queue or Genie+ or whatever the fuck it's called?
Going back to my comment about how Hades was nothing like the original stories, it also goes into how Zeus is portrayed in that movie. Basically, Disney swapped their personalities from the original myths. Zeus was the one who was prone to anger, and Hades was actually downright NICE compared to the other Olympians.I honestly just find it interesting they didn't try to kill him off like they typically did with villain characters, but then again, Hades didn't really do anything despicable in comparison to someone like Frollo.
Its not virtual queue. Hasnt for a year at least. Instead you get nice 3 hour line. If you want to skip that there is a genie plus paid option for 15 bucks a head but it sells out pretty quick. Hotel people get first dibs and buy it out first. If the general extends to the theme parks, do any of you know if the Rise of the Resistance ride at Disneyland/World still virtual queue or Genie+ or whatever the fuck it's called?

That's funny you mention that because when I went when I was little I remember my parents took advantage of the autism pass with one of my siblings. Its not virtual queue. Hasnt for a year at least.
There's also the cheater option with das. Autism qualifies you for it. It will make people hate you if you use it. But fuck them.
