Part of me wants to suspect that it’s akin to the persistence of the Nigerian Prince scam. It’s such a well known scam that its cultural shorthand for something only suckers fall for but therein lies its strength. If someone falls for it, you know they’re a good mark. A conniving Internet personality could craft their content to hook in only the most gullible. That doesn’t quite make sense here because Fong isn’t selling supplements or anything. Plus, this sort of lying is something you see random nobodies do too so they aren’t all playing five dimensional chess.

Maybe that is the “evolutionary” mechanism just not on purpose. Posts only for morons gain traction with morons who amplify them more than others would regardless of if that wasn’t your plan

Incidentally, John also pulled this exact lie that Elliot did, claiming that Gamergaters constantly contact him to apologize and beg for forgiveness. That's what this cobblestone-faced freak really wants, is to have us groveling at his feet begging for mercy. Well, he can go fuck himself.

I notice that he claims in the second paragraph that this Veilios is "openly" violating Canadian law, but then in the fourth paragraph complains that it's "unnecessarily onerous" for him to make a criminal complaint to authorities about Veilios for their "open" illegality while at the same time saying that the only problem Veilios faces is the "negative publicity" from not blocking a website. Nowhere does he state which specific laws are being violated nor how, something he has yet to ever state.

This is worse extortion than byuu attempted.

Also, the Section 230 thing is a red herring. But I would love to see Elliot sue Veilios or anyone else for transmitting a website per standard network behavior on which he alleges an anonymous person defamed him in a way he refuses to elaborate on.

All this dude does is come up with convoluted excuses for why he has to harass internet providers to hide his consent accidents.
