McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

I don't really eat at McDonald's as much because I don't work at a night job (McDonald's becomes a lot more appealing when you're looking for places to eat at 3:40 am) but it just isn't that fun anymore when your only options are basically Chicken McNuggets, a hamburger that's basically a clone of Whataburger, or burgers that basically have nothing on them except pickles. Seasonal/one-shot items don't exist, and they have yet to restore the pre-2020 menu.

Whataburger at least spices things up with their "All-Time Favorites" and a seasonal hamburger (the Pico de Gallo burger was actually really good) or Jack in the Box and their miscellaneous fried food or the rice bowl.

I hate that the McDonald's near me has this strange smell when walking in. It's a mix of feet and chemical. Makes me lose my appetite.

It might also be to help dump a substantial amount of that rubbish that's about to spoil, I mean become unsaleable. That imitation food cannot spoil, if it is inedible it's an improvement!

Yeah, they're going to do like shit after the novelty wears off. Vegans are not a big enough market and the vegan things never sell well. Even during food shortages people don't really touch them.

I feel like the novelty already wore off after shortages both in the UK and USA had grocery stores emptied but no one touched the frankenmeat.
I'm legit starting to wonder if there's some ideology at play among decision-makers or financial kickbacks for subscribing to said ideology involved.

Before Mcd yeeted itself from here, and now in new non-mcdonald-mcdonalds, there is a burger with cheese patty on top of meat, and real Mcdonalds had it permamently cold, but those guys do heat it proper, so it is quite good if you eat it on spot.
Did you ever have it?

Wait, an entirely separate cheese patty? Like, just a patty made of cheese?
I've never seen that stateside and I'm very confused because that sounds 100% like something Americans would invent/buy in bulk.

I think they had something like this in a USA in the past?

We briefly had Burger King push out one as competition, as well.

Either way, it chills and clots up instantly unless you wrestle it from the worker's trembling hands and shove into your mouth directly.

Something like that would just be referred to as fried cheese rather than a cheese "patty" if you ask me, I generally see patties being more meat-based (and while it is blasphemous to say it, I'd also consider meat alternatives barring tofu to count as well).

As to where you can find burgers like this in the US one should check the menus of local-ish restaurants, especially if they present themselves as being gourmet.

I certainly don't remember it, but I do remember McDonald's selling mozzarella sticks years ago.
