Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

Huh turns out there is an entire subreddit (/r/BanPitbulls) that posts tons of vids and pictures of pitbull attacks and aftermaths, super informative, super depressing

On the first site, there was a recently posted report with photos on 5 autopsy cases of victims who died from pitbull attacks. 3 of them were children, one was a 91 year old woman, the other one I can't remember. One of them was a 2 month old baby who had been decapitated by the pitbull, and parts of the face, an eye and both ears were found in it's stomach. The baby had been crying, the pitbull killed it, decapitated it, and then started eating it.

If I knew how to repost on here correctly, I would put it here. It really shows what these dogs do when they kill.

I've had progressives argue with me that violence isn't in genetics and defend pitbulls. Which is what they literally believe. They dont believe any behavior is genetic. I've had to tell them constantly, that yes, violence is genetic. And all animals including humans have a capability for it. With varying degrees. And that instinct in animals, besides humans (some of the time) can't be trained out. And that since we're not dogs we can't communicate or understand triggers. Humans can override out instincts, so it seems alien to retards that other animals can't, so it MUST be something else's fault. Never mind the problems that a 170 pound animal with a bite force of half a ton getting scared of a helpless mewling infant is not fit for domestication in the fucking first place.

Also that we're the ones who bred pitbulls in the first place, they didn't exist in nature and that no species is going extinct if we exterminate the breed. And many breeds do go 'extinct'. Fucking wolf dogs have less problems than pitbulls. And these people can barely comprehend dogs descended from wolves.

Somehow they're the ones making the leap from violent genetics to humans to black people.

I don't have this problem with conservatives or libs other than social progressives. I do wonder why...

And this breed should be exterminated. 100%. It has no place in the modern era.

I know a couple, whom are fairly liberal, the wife wanted a dog for a long time, but the husband was somewhat against it. Whenever they talked about considering one, they mentioned a labrador, or a golden retriever. About a year ago, the husband started talking about getting a pitbull, out of the blue. When I asked why, he just said, it would be a good guard dog. I told him it is not a good idea, because these dogs are inherently dangerous and they should stick to family friendly breeds. He just stared at me blankly and changed topics. They would be terrible dog owners, even if they picked a normal breed, because they simply have no time, or conviction to care for and properly train a dog. Now this idiot wants to get a murder beast, which would require extreme discipline and caution. I hope they do not go through with it. At least they do not have children, but they do own a cat and pitties have no qualms about ripping of the limbs and faces of their owners.

It's hilarious to think that you need a specialized guard dog for most scenarios. A good dog of any breed will bark and alert to strangers without the possibility of a mauling incident.

My mother had a red border collie that wouldn't let anyone in the yard or near the car without sounding the alarm and he sounded like he really fucking meant it. He also wouldn't hurt a fly and let toddlers lay on him and pull his tail and ears. He'd huff to give them a warning but if they didn't stop he'd just le ave.

Unless you're under threat for your life on a regular basis you don't need a murder mutt.

Indeed, I also told him, any dog would ward off petty criminals and any criminal, worth their salt, would neutralize even the most ferocious guard dog. It's not just the fact that people refuse to acknowledge there are tendencies to certain behaviors in breeds, it's also how they think of dogs in general. I go on and on about how words have meaning and misusing words or altering their use can change how people think. This trend of "dog parent" or "furbaby" etc. has poisoned the dog-lover's mind to anthropomorphize dogs. When you talk about a dog like it's a child you think about it like it's a child, this poisons your mind to think that dogs are like children. Dogs are animals, they need to be controlled and for that to happen they need to have domestic behavior patterns and a recognizable pack structure in the family that owns them. This is why so many people's dogs are such absolutely annoying shits nowadays; they don't look at the dog like an animal to be trained, owned, and subservient, they look at it like a person and don't want to be "mean". A well behaved dog comes from a disciplinarian owner, end of story. People who pamper and refuse to discipline their dogs wind up with ill behaved dogs. If you're not even cognizant enough of dog behavior to realize that a dog which knows its place is a good dog, you're not capable of understanding that pitbulls are predisposed to violence.

The Pitbull Question is a reductio ad absurdum of race biology issues. Surely, hypothetically speaking, if there were a creature deliberately bred to kill things for no reason, all of us -- even the most dreadlock'd and tattoo-adorned white woman -- could agree that its propensity for violence isn't attributable to social or economic factors? Turns out, the answer is no.

What I don’t understand is people’s inability to read between the lines when they see shelter descriptions which say “can’t be in a house with other animals or kids”. That says to me “this dog will be a fucking nightmare whenever you take it out because it will try to kill everything it sees.”

I think what sucks is that 'adopt don't shop' is good for cats, and that pibbles risk ruining it and No Kills for cats. As for dogs, I have a feeling that if pibbles were taken out of the equation, the amount of dogs in shelters would drop significantly, because of the great degree of spaying and neutering.

Because they want to get rid of them, otherwise the dogs would sit there for years. If they wanted to 'save' pibbles, they'd start campaigning about why backyard breeding is a bad idea, that the puppies the backyard breeders swear up and down are 'valuable' will highly likely end up in a shelter in a few years because of destructive behavior, aggression, and biting, and that owners should understand the heavy responsibility these dogs bring. That's what breeders of other dog breeds did after they'd experience a surge of popularity from a movie, cartoon or show, they educated people to prevent further overbreeding and dogs being dumped in shelters after the dogs inevitably proved too much to handle.

I think it's because shelters dress it up cutesy so that people don't take it as seriously. Cats don't seem to get that same treatment to the degree of dogs, it's usually 'Does not like dogs,' or 'Does not like children,' or 'Must be only cat.' It's very matter of fact.
