Timeline on this is all super fuzzy for me but, from what I remember of it, Michael and his ex-wife (#1) Kelly had a daughter together, named Sophie. Sometime after their divorce, he gets married to a woman named Kourtney. They also split and he begins dating Elissa, who had been following the case surrounding his daughter. I don't know how long they dated, but I don't think they are still together.

The Sophie case:
At some point in this messy timeline, Sophie alleged that her mother Kelly's boyfriend/fiance/idk had been molesting her. I think there's even video of her somewhere looking terrified at the prospect of having to go back to them. Michael decides not to return Sophie to her mother during a visitation and flees with her to another country for several months. I don't know if Elissa was involved with this or assisted Michael with any of it, but she wasn't charged with anything that I know of. Eventually Michael and Sophie are located and returned to the United States. People on Kelly's side made allegations that Michael had abducted her for the purposes of molesting her. Kelly wanted Michael to be sent to jail for 30 years or something for it. Some of these people on Kelly's side did stuff like get third parties involved with the case on a professional level like Ken Jennings fired from his job. I don't know what has happened with the case after Michael was found. But I do remember that Nick was strongly on Michael's side in the whole thing, and so all these allegations from ArtTheClown that Michael and Elissa are pedos is really bizarre, and I'm glad Nick told him to knock that shit off in locals yesterday.

Key element I remember was that the video didn't actually start all of it. It started when Michael Long discovered bruises on Sophie that to make it worse, were in very 'specific' places. Sophie would enter his custody drugged up and he took her to the hospital several times to check what was wrong. It wasn't even Michael Long that came up with the molestation theory but one of the doctors. Then him and his then-gf (potentially Elyssa) tried pressing Sophie to find out what happened and where all this shit was coming from and that's what led to the recorded video.

The gist of what happened is that Sophie's mother got a new boyfriend who is to put it simply as others have, a White trash criminal and a pedophile. Kelly would pimp out Sophie to her bf, who would occasionally also beat her in-between molesting her and then Kelly would shout at Sophie and pretend like Sophie is in the wrong (probably as 'punishment' for not liking it). But unfortunately, Kelly's bf also happens to be friends with several police officers, some of which are bigger schizoids than Michael Long. Hence why the cops, knowing all this, don't lift a finger to make any arrests in Kelly's home. There's (or there were, I heard one of them) actual recordings of those police officers rambling incoherently about Michael Long in a car and talking about him like he's some movie supervillain that needs to be taken down.

Eventually, as they always do, the courts decided that Kelly did absolutely nothing wrong and should have full custody of Sophie, subjecting her to Kelly's boyfriend even more than before. At that point, Michael snapped for good, 'kidnapped' Sophie (in his mind, justifiably to protect her from getting pimped out to Kelly's bf even more) and left the country with her. That's when most people myself included lost track of it because covering it became more difficult (and thus Nick didn't do that anymore).
