I started watching Nick when he was making his Russel Greer series. I never would have imagined that he, seeing how Greer turned out, would decide to die on the hill of sex-freakery.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out where this is going. She came around once she saw the money and how Nick could stay with the kids easier.

She didn't marry a lawyer but she was presumably aware that the family wealth would insulate them. She was able to be a SAHM and Nick was able to abandon one career and pursue another despite being the sole breadwinner.

People often have "when the kids are grown" goals, but their kids are not yet grown. The current behaviour is more like what you see in newly divorced people who married young and never really had their party years.

There's a reason you don't meet too many middle class couples who have 5 kids these days, because that's a tremendous burden, especially if you aren't tied into a community that facilitates it. It will feel oppressive, and major sacrifices are going to have to be made. Any adult knows that and be prepared to be in it for the long haul.

Based upon their personalities any reasonable individual should've been able to tell them, from the start of their relationship, that they weren't built to have a big family. But they had to play pretend trad, and now that the larp isn't fun anymore they don't want to be bothered.
And now he's sitting there talking about how he hates dealing with his kids, because surprise, it has a major, long-lasting impact on your life.

I don't know them well enough to say for sure, but to me they come off as completely spoiled fucking idiots.
Just from what I understand of his history Nick's attention has always been a little flighty, it was always going to turn out this way.

I'm not trying to absolve Nick of responsibility, but on LR's end if she didn't want to wind up as a single mother, she should've recognized the signs years ago and pumped the brakes instead of continuing to have kids hoping the problem would fix itself.

Basically I can very easily understand why someone like Nick would hate dealing with having a bunch of kids...which is exactly why I don't understand why he'd have a bunch of kids.

I like Az, but I don't think he, or any of the other Friday Night Tights crew that Nick associates with, are going to have a problem with Nick's recent behavior. They're not particularly socially conservative as a group, and they're certainly not going to care about the hypocrisy.

No. She married a Wells Fargo bank teller with a creative writing degree. There had to have been alot of money coming from somewhere to build the nest, but it sure wasn't money Nick was making.
A theory is that whoever was paying his bills eventually sat him down and tried to get him into something where he could actually support a family. So they sent him to law school and presumably paid all the bills of the family for those years as well.
But even after law school, there was no jackpot. He started his own one-man law firm right out of school in a rural area where the economic prospects were less than spectacular. He wasn't going to make big money out there in the law.
I would guess the controversy over him going into streaming was him mostly giving up on the law practice that was supposed to make them somewhat financially independent.

But giving him his due, Nick was very successful. Successful enough to finally support his family and probably successful enough to break free of whoever was supporting him earlier. It was a big win and she would have to respect that.
