This isn't a shaped charge and is the work of photoshop. It's super obvious in slow mo, smoke completely freezes when the second explosion happens and even has a nice stock fade effect.

They could've gotten them from places other than the US, and there's a ton of equipment in Ukraine that was never accounted for. No one cares about a few old junker IFVs being snuck in, it's not seen by Russia as a major escalation. Let's not fool ourselves with the notion that every single piece of equipment sent to Ukraine is meant to be known to the general public, there's black budget shit flying in all the time.

I do agree, but given it's been a few months, we would have gotten pictures or even information that backs it up coming from OSINT accounts. Instead it was memory holed for a few months with the only thing backing it up being an offhand comment from a daily MoD report. With that it's much more likely it's lying that is standard for the Russian and Ukrainian MoDs.

This war will be a great example as to why militaries shouldn't throw shit away and just build a few tempature controlled bunkers and use some lower enlisted to guard it until needed. I'd imagine the UK could have flooded Ukraine with L1A1 rifles or the Sweedes could have dumped off S-tanks to good effect.
