Antarctic came to Zack because of Brett R. Smith, who seems to have convinced them that conservative crowdfunders were the solution to their low sales problems. They also made an offer to publish CYBERFROG.
I'm pretty sure I remember Lim being involved, but so many deleted videos. regardless....
Antarctic wasn't selling very well back then, and if the Trump books were their best sellers, it isn't saying much.
It was in the court documents, I believe. I remember....Dunn? One of the Dunn bros had commented on it.
They offered to sell their whole business to Richard C. Meyer after Jawbreakers raised $400K.
I don't remember that happening.
In other words, Zack's half of the profits after publishing and fulfilling Lost Souls was more than enough for Antarctic Press to hand over their whole empire.
Is this like your mysterious bully cabal, or was this an actual offer?
Also, did Richard hit 400K before or after Waid canceled the deal and he got allot of sympathy backers?
You can go back and look at the Timothy Lim IGG campaigns from back then. Your memory doesn't have to recall.
Unlike you and Richard's books, Tim Lim's books were sold on the direct market by antarctic in comic shops. It wasn't a 25 dollar comic book solicited solely on indiegogo, it was sold for I think five or six bucks? The problem is it went through allot of reprinting and I'm not sure how to count all that/don't really care. I do know it sold really well for them based on what they said.
Personally, I think Jawbreakers would have been big for them. Richard would have likely moved six or seven thousand units, making it a splashy indie title and it would have made Antarctic a top ten publisher. The company would have made a bank for standing up to Waid and gained nothing from anyone by bending over.
