You know, what I find funny? These people go through life, thinking they’re the good guys and everyone else is terrible but the fact is that they’re just a bunch of losers.

Hate to burst your bubble but this animation style will not die if R&M gets axed. Cartoons like this, Famiy Guy, Spongebob and Adventure Time have spawned a wave of industry cogs who will keep the ugly art and forced comedy torch burning until they get a blessing from heaven (or hell, there's fucking demons everywhere) and do something better than this. It's still profitable but even that profit is running out in small doses.

Not to mention [AS] is cool when they, just like its brother CN, do cartoons that don't kowtow to metrics and "current things" and just be a fun watch for all.

Chowder started turning into FOP. Running jokes into the ground and everybody being jerks. It was good while it was good and glad it when it left. Harvey Beaks was cute though. Greenblatt just needs another original cartoon because I did not like "Jellystone".

Oh, good, the 2000s equivalent to Bruno the Kid (same damn plot every episode, never changes except once or twice) is coming back. Yaaaaaay. :|

This is a very funny cope.
The writing of Velma seems almost identical to shows like She Hulk that got critical acclaim. Maybe the criticw know all these shows are bad, but have to praise them because they can't mental gymnastics it into a right wing show.

I figured out there was something going on behind the scenes with McGruder not being involved with Season 4, what with Witherspoon saying in an interview that he would be involved and how the press release didn't really explain anything and came out just days before the premiere. I think he might have been more involved and then demanded that his name be taken off of it, but that's just a hunch.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I'd say P+F is a wee bit better than that given the format lending itself well to being episodic, but I get why people might be wary of it being revived given that it had a good run already. Dan's working on it at the very least which bodes well. His other cartoon (the hamster thing) also got a second season.

It's a result of the mentality a lot of people in the Toon Biz have towards animation: when you have cartoon characters swear and commit bloody "comedic" violence and reference drugs and other "adult" things then it's funny because you see animation is normally a medium for junk shows aimed at children.

Can we add Asaph Fipke and Chuck Johnson of Nerd Corps to 'Good Old shows' pile? Most of their shows (Stormhawks, Slugettera, League of Super Evil, ect.) made up my childhood and they still hold up, especially because, for TV-Budget CGI animation, the shows were visually stylish and memorable.

I have not watch Velma (because I rather pick out earwax) but I think another reason why it gets so much distain from everyone is that Scooby Doo have been part of the social conusion since the 60s.
Heck here in Sweden, my parents generation would watch Scooby Doo at chirstmas, as it would be aired then.
So 60 years of making an impact on pop culture.
