Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

How much troonery and fetish shit is in this?
Alot

Pronouns galore, queer romances, black PC female as cannon and the usual catering to "modern day audiences". The standard woke shit.

It will probably sell well due to the built in fan base and at least the creators aren't shitting all over the fans...yet.

I will wait to pirate it after the fan mod that takes out all the woke shit comes out. No way I'm giving money to this dev team.

Minsc deserves better. He deserves his own game and not to be used to rope in fans into a probably woke-shit game.

from what I remember:
- you can now select your pronouns and everyone will magically know them & respect them
- every party member is playersexual
- Lae'Zel will cuck you because apparently that's what the gith do

in terms of general writing for quests and characters (outside of romances) I don't remember anything really sticking out, though

The black female thing is the only thing that legitimately bugs me. They changed it on purpose for the sole reason of annoying people, before that it was some generic brown haired white person if I remember right. Women, let alone black women, do not even play bg3. They did a poll and something like 95%+ of the players of BG3's early access are men. I can only imagine how many of the remaining 5% are mentally ill men (trannies) that can't even answer a poll honestly.

HOWEVER one of the things the character creator does hilariously right (or wrong) is that all the human women are ugly compared to the elf super models.

Was the pronoun shit added in the last update? I haven't played in a patch or two but don't remember seeing it, either way I bet it will be like cyberpunk 2077's fag pandering in that 'hey here's your option trannies.' But it will do literally nothing gameplay wise.

A lot of the complaining is a case of pic related, honestly.

Anyone romancing the green bat deserves worse. She is a cunt to you from the moment you meet her and never stops. I find her entertaining, but it's completely unsurprising she would cuck you. The designated wife is Shadowheart. Who is actually cute and not a complete raging bitch.

Also worth mentioning is that if whoever you don't fuck gets with another party member. Oh and Gale seethes if you get with Shadowheart, it's funny.

The bolded is the most important part. So far the dialogue is much better than DOS2 was and I haven't seen any especially cringe worthy woke shit.

I don't get it, I remember gamers and the media laughing on those rpg romances as being sexist, shallow and badly written, but nowadays game devs seem to invest more time in having the player be able to fuck everything rather than creating an actually fun game.
They invest more time because now they are a vehicle to promote gay shit and race mixing which is of utmost importance in western media.

I haven't been actively following this game. Does it have anything to do with the Bhaalspawn saga or they just made this because they got access to the IP?

It's mostly about your guy trying to avoid turning into a mindflayer. Unless there's stuff later in the game, there's not much to connect it to the Bhaalspawn beyond Minsc being there. The setting is a good 120 years in the future so most of non-elves you'd recognize are probably either dead or very old.

Jaheira is popping up, too. So far, though, there's nothing really connecting it to the Bhaalspawn Saga. Sven claims there's a 'big secret' that he's already seen people guess since the beginning... which I'm figuring will be that the protag is a bhaalspawn or connected to the original BG main character somehow.

there was the passive-aggressive whining about "whoa our players only create white men" once or twice.
larian was also always quite leftie, but were smart enough to keep it in check so far. but you also gotta remember DND is pozzed af now, so we gonna have to wait and see how much they jump into it.

bioware was always leaning into that hard tho, and that was a while before wokeshit. ME2 was notorious for the bioware-drones on their forum all salivating to bang an alien.

like wokeshit it's an easy excuse, and with how infantile "journalism" is now they won't criticize anymore and rather flick their bean to it.

How long do half-elves live for? Anyway, I think Throne Of Bhaal already brought the original saga to a proper end, so Larian have space to tell their own story.

I haven't bought early-access, as I want the full experience. I loved DoS2, so its sure to be a fun game.

I wonder if it can get hit by the OGL change, would be pretty funny after it got delayed so much the studio will be forced to comply with the new license and get taxes on half their sales.

If my understanding is correct they have a different kind of licence. They even had to pitch the game to wizards to even have a chance to make it.

Yeah, I would imagine anything taking place in the Forgotten Realms setting has WotC explicit blessing and probably a revenue deal in place. I think something like Solastra which uses the same ruleset might be in trouble though.

I had forgotten about that thing D&D 5th did (Thankfully it can be ignored (unless they force it into the game (possibly))

The "canon" Bhaalspawn in the novels was https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Abdel_Adrian but for this let's skip to after the novel to the scenario that i remember served as a I think a preview of 5th edition.
Bhaalspawn Abdel at the end of Baldur's Gate Throne of Bhaal choose to be mortal but turns out something of Bhaal remained and brought Abdel and this guy https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Viekang confrontation, Viking and his companions attacking Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate Abdel. They fought, one died and the other transformed into the Avatar of Bhaal that was killed by the people. SO either Bhaalspawn was killed by a retconned (as far as I know) other Bhaalspawn or became the Avatar of Bhaal. Either way guess what? Bhaal is returned to life as a God

Oh and the 5th edition adventure Descent into Avernus is a prequel to Baldur's Gate 3 since the game is set after one the adventure possible endings. No jokes

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/fcwe9b/descent_into_avernus_summary/ I know it's a reddit link but it was the only place I could find a summary of what happened in Descent into Avernus

I heard that
in a later act, you find out that you are the offspring of the main character that you played as from Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. So you are Bhaalspawn

Oh great. Then I will be a half dark elf with half elf genes from the old MC. Sounds fun.
